The one thing Froch ought to do is unify some titles, and then defend them that would top JC's legacy for sure because JC never defended any belt other than the minor WBO one.
Let me know when Froch sets the record for title defenses and moves up to LHW to beat the ring champ.

you missed the irony, what genuine champ would want to fight bums to set a new record. Do the math.

But if you are welsh then you are forgiven for believing that Froch wouldn't knock the crap out of fake LHW champ Clev as well, who at least hold a legit LHW title and not the masquerade Ring one.

but Cal didn't make the really big money fighting domestics. that's why he travelled at the end instead of facing a queue of dangerous legit opponents who would have given him a lot of trouble at age 36. He wanted to retire whilst still post prime rich AND stay undefeated. Facing the now faded old legends satisfied both needs.

          chicken and egg theory surely?

I understand he flew for holidays anyway, but I am not sure how much Warren or Cal are making up tbh. One of them is lying, and they are both profligate liars unfortunately.

Froch did make that "strange" remark in regards to him being the top fighter if he were to beat Ward. Because Floyd doesn't have too many fights in him? Even if he were to retire before him? Even if he were to beat the number 2 guy? He'd surely deserve to be up there, but it is a matter of opinion whether he'd be #1 P4P.

Too bad Joe is a bit too old now, because a fight between him and Froch would have been a good one, I think. Froch is good and durable. Joe and Ward would have been interesting as well. Shame... It is also too bad that he doesn't seem to want to fight Bernard too much. That's another fight I'd want to see. The pre-fight stuff would be nice, I'd guess.
Last I checked Froch hasn't decided he wants to fight B-hop and that...
44years old is hard to declare as a "younger version"

Calzaghe was THAT NICE. he won his title from Eubanks and Eubanks was mauling dudes at the time. He beat the fight out of Jeff Lacy made him look silly and at that time Jeff Lacy was a monster over here in the US. He beat a Kessler that later Beat froch. He is from the same Era of boxing as Roy, Bernard, and James Toney. Thay all could have fought him and chose not to. You have to respect Calzaghe's Legacy. That man was a beast in the ring.
Lmao dude are you kidding me??
James Toney knocking back a fight with a Brit?
That just would NEVER happen, Calzaghes legacy isn't better than B-hops, Roys or James Toneys!
He should of went over to America but that's right he's apparently scared of flying.

Joe was his mandatory in 97, 98, 99 and what did roy do? he fought cabdrivers and stock boys. then he started jumping up in weight. HE DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT CALZAGHE!!! True Hardcore Boxing Fans know this. See the problem with boxing fans is like Paulie said "what have you done for me lately" Froch started coming on as Joe was on his way out. I am willing to bet everything I own if calzaghe came out of retirement he would whoop froch!!! I can tell from the comments alot of guys on here didn't start watching boxing until ten years ago. I have been a hard core boxing fan since 1986 when Tyson was out here whoopin ass. and I remember Roy's career clearly as he was one of my favorites but truth be told he never really fought anybody that the true fans wanted to see him fight. he was the supreme cherry picker...lol when he finally fought Tarver look what happened. Calzaghe in my Opinion is by far an all time great SMW!!!
Does the champion have to travel to a fighters home ground?
Roy Jones Jr is one of the greatest of all times he's done WAAAY more than Calzaghe could ever dreamt of in his career, I personally just think you're trolling especially when you expect Roy Jones who clearly was the best fighter of his era P4P wise to travel away to fight someone!!!

                    this is true.

It must hurt Calzaghe that if Jones, Toney, Hopkins, Steiglitz and Froch had fought stiffs like Joe did for ten years, they'd all have 50-0 unbeaten records. But where is the challenge in that? No one wants to take a **** route like Joe Calzaghe does.

It would be a boring SMW division too, with all the good fighters having 50-0 unbeaten records but never fighting anyone of note.
