On paper, it is a 50/50 fight. The fighter who will be the more accurate and intelligent will win this fight. However, I think Floyd is mentally tougher thand Canelo which might play in his favour.

As a Mayweather fan, an objective one at that, I still can't ignore the hypocrisy of Floyd and his catchweight over Alvarez. I understand Alvarez is bigger - and that's it - he's a jr. middle, a 154lb-er! So why imply to fight Cotto at Cotto's "most natural weight" ... yet implode on a career light-middleweight in Alvarez. I don't buy it because you can't have it both ways!

Safe prediction is that Alvarez gives it his best shot and Mayweather UDs him in a fairly close, competitive fight. But in this one, I Expect Saul to catch Mayweather with his speed and accuracy. I expect him to land on Mayweather like Mosley did. Only this time Canelo isn't an old Mosley who will gas after 2-rounds, or De la Hoya - who arguably won 5 rounds against Floyd, or even Cotto, who despite being a great warrior must now be in the twilight of his career.

I expect Canelo to hurt Mayweather. And when he does, we'll see how much Mayweather really has to offer at this stage of his career.

              Great expectations.

Agreed, if Canelo can touch him in every round with nice shots, maybe even trap him for some combos I think it could get interesting.

It's always interesting to see how someone attempts to crack the Mayweather code.

On the other hand, I think Floyd might able to Gatti the young kid. Canelo has to stay focused..

Disagree man, Canelo cannot be compared to the late Gatti. No way. I expect Mayweather to box in this fight and stick & move! The 'Mayweather code'? Castillo, De la Hoya and Cotto showed Mayweather is not unbeatable. Castillo arguably beat him the first time round, and Oscar/Miguel won 5 rounds against him.

Like I said, Mayweather is the safe choice. But I DON'T expect Canelo to let Mayweather off the hook if he hurts him like Mosley did. And with Canelo's incredible punch variation, power, speed and accuracy .... who knows what CAN happen in that fight! I wouldn't be surprised if Mayweather even touches down - real talk.

Neither Oscar(3 at the most) or Cotto(2 at most) won 5 rds; there best aspect is when they jabbed both have great jabs being converted Southpaws. Canelo isn't a jabber where I think he can trouble Floyd is the way he shoots his combos and the placement of them. It will be a hell of a fight I do know do that. But Canelo stamina and not being albe to cut off the ring may get him in trouble plus his work rate favors Floyd.
