Canelo isn't a jabber where I think he can trouble Floyd is the way he shoots his combos and the placement of them. It will be a hell of a fight I do know do that. But Canelo stamina and not being albe to cut off the ring may get him in trouble plus his work rate favors Floyd.
Wow. So Cotto lost 10 rounds to Mayweather? I'm all for effective aggression, defense, ring generalship and clean punching. But there were AT LEAST 4 rounds in that fight where Cotto's aggression and ring generalship (i.e cutting the ring off) warranted rounds in his favour.

And as a matter of fact, Mayweather said in the post-fight press conference that Oscar won 4 rounds! It's neither here or there. I say a prime 2007 Cotto pushes Mayweather very close.

I gave Cotto rds 6 & 8 Cotto's clean punches were jabs; you say Prime Cotto was 07 but Floyd isn't in his prime anymore either

      • Mayweathers opponents spend too much time head hunting when they do get him against the ropes. I'd like to see Canelo concentrate everything on the body for the first 4/5 rounds, that could really slow Mayweather up and make him a much easier target later on. Mayweather has slowed down and this will be one of the toughest fights of his career.

Everyone knows that Mayweather chose to fight that fight differently than usual, if he stuck to his usual pot shot and move the whole fight, Cotto wouldn't have hardly landed anything.

If he does that he leaves himself to getting countered up top; I think there will be alot of body punching coming from both

No chance. You're underestimating Cotto by implying that. The rhythm of the fight was EQUALLY dictated by Cotto's offense and ability to cut off the ring and make Mayweather bleed. Cotto isn't a small Marquez or Roberto Guerrera.

Mayweather isn't in his absolute prime. But he's not miles away from it. His reflexes, speed, chin, stamina, power, co-ordination is all superb. You can't say the same for the Cotto that arguably won 4 to 5 rounds against him. Like I said, a 2007/2008 Cotto is a different proposition to Baldomir and Hatton. Mayweather knows that now, and he knew that then.

Floyd went into that fight thinking he could just beat Cotto up and make him quit; that's why he fought flatfooted and on the ropes and seemed visibly tired from 6-8 rds when Cotto had his best period in the fight. he had probably had more respect for Cotto after the fight who absolutely came to win.

It was only close because Floyd wanted to please fans. Bullshit.

Do you make it up as you go on? It's white noise, sir. The HBO faceoff contradicts what you're implying because Floyd himself acknowledges in his OWN words that "Miguel is tough, he's gonna come to fight".

HBO scored rounds 5, 6 & 8 to Cotto as far as I can remember. Rounds 9 & 10 were swing rounds, very much like rounds 5 & 6 in that they could've gone either way.

So Floyd was supposed to say he's quitter who I think I can beat up who the hell would buy that fight be serious; Lederman gave Cotto 1 more rd than me and judges scored it just about the same also.
