Do yourself a favor and leave your monitor and give the sport a go even just a handful of amateur bouts will give you a better clue than you have now .
Marg probably used diuretics many times at welter, definitely vs Mosley when he overdosed and weighed in at 145.5. It certainly was a relief for him to get those extra 3lbs.

I guess Canelo should try diuretics as well, to make that CW. But he's not as experienced at this, wonder how it affects him.

Canelo was 20 then. You don't completely fill out til your mid 20s. He's going to struggle making this weight.

It just shocks me that people think Floyd is in the right along for a cw. Why leave doubt in people's minds unless you think you need some sort of advantage?
well win or lose canelo will still be undefeated according to floyd logic

Some ppl will ask for $h1t they might not use it, maybe Fraud is that way, just to have something going his way. like I say 2 pounds on a 23 years old kid is nothing, now you ask a 35-40 years old guy to shed that same amount and they will have a problem...

Canelo don't need diuretics like Margo did , he has a much better preparation and is a much better fighter in his prime and he don't have to lose nearly as much as Manny forced Margarito to lose , but Manny got it over Floyd , he made an already slow drained Margo fight him in a 26 ft ring , can you believe that 26 ft , a weight drained sloth in a paddock to play catchy LOL

Your flip flopping is so pathetic LOL .

WTF are you talking about? People want to compare this cw to the same cw that Mayweather criticized Pacquiao for, and all I'm doing is providing the differences.

The weight disparity is huge, and there's proof of that.

As far as the dehydration clauses, I've read conflicting articles, some state Pacquiao didn't require them, some state he required them against DLH, Hatton, and Cotto. Who knows on that one. There's still major differences in CW whether we exclude the alleged rehydration clauses or not.

Really? Here's a quote from a yahoo article: Cotto calls our team Pacquiao

"If he wants a big name and wants to fight the best, no catchweight," Cotto said. "Making catchweights is easy for them. They make the other guy have trouble making weight and they take advantage of that. I wasn't going to do that again. I am 154 pounds. I am not going to fight at a catchweight and make myself weak."

Back in 2009, Pacquiao insisted that their fight be at a catchweight of 145 lbs., two pounds under the true welterweight limit of 147 lbs. Cotto says that the effort to make that arbitrary weight limit did, indeed, have an effect on his performance.
I may be new to this site, but that doesn't mean I dont' know what I'm talking about. I'm not a Floyd jock-swinger, nor a hater of Canelo or Pacquiao. I call it like I see it, and i'm providing quotes/facts that support my statement. Try doing your research before you call out another poster, or how about express the reasons you disagree and hold an actual discussion rather that talking ****.

**Mods: I know most messageboards require a link when posting a quote from a site. I tried posting the link but received this error:
"You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more.".

I'll gladly edit this post and provide the link once I cross that threshold.

The context you're providing is ****, and I'll be happy to knock it back quick, but lets deal with the facts first. I need to see links for Pac rehydration clauses.

Dude Cotto was a 147er when Pac made him drop 2 lbs. Did you start watching boxing yesterday?

                • He is young, dropping the extra couple pounds should not be difficult. It is the older fighters that have a hard time adjusting.

As long as he loses the couple extra pounds the right way and not have to do it in a sauna the last day
