Mayweather/Mosley was supposed to break records considering
the huge number of circumstances in that fight.

This one will slightly equal the Cotto fight, give or take.

We gotta admit the majority wants to see Mayweather lose.

Unfortunately for these folks there are no SRLs around anymore, Hearns, Duran, Hagler... there's just nobody that could take the place of these great fighters. They have no choice but to settle for a guy whose only advantage is size.
Another hypejob whose main accomplishment is Trout. They had one who most boxing experts say Floyd would have beat but preferred to disappoint the fans by dumping roadblocks in it like crazy.

It takes away some of the intrigue. But I'd be shocked if a lot of the fans going to the fight or ordering the PPV even know what a catch weight is. lol

I don't know about breaking records but this fight will be huge. The #1 mexican fighter fighting on independence day against the P4P top fighter will get people hyped.
Plus you will have the Floyd hater crowd tuning in to see if Mayweather takes a loss.
That crowd didn't come out in force for Guerrero because no one thought Ghost had a shot.
We will be hearing about how Canelo's size will pose problems for Floyd from now until September. The buzz on fight night will be crazy. I am sure all the college football games on CBS that day will talking up this fight as well.
Could do as much as 2 million.
