No but this could probably do 1.8 million buys, which is huge considering Delahoya/Trinidad did like 1.4 million

I don't see it breaking the record, but 1.5-2 million buys is very doable for this fight.

9/14 isn't the giant party weekend Cinco de Mayo is, so I can't see it breaking the record.

All I have to say is... this is the first fight where my WIFE and 2 of her friends want to get the PPV for this fight... cuzz they love canelo... usually it's me asking permission to get the ppv.

If the fight is relatively close, and the numbers good, the rematch will happen on Cinco.

regardless of how successful the ppv will be, I'm not buying it. The catchweight ruined this fight for me and I will give no credit to Mayweather if he wins.

Nah, plus showtime doesn't have that many subs. It could do 1.7

Omg why are people so imbeciles here???? Cotto did those views by coming off a good loss against mayweather while being in numerous PPV against pac as well tell me who had more exposure before????? Trout has never been that guy that brings people in and canelo manage to get 1 million views without ever headlining a PPV and without ever fighting pac or pbf you tell me whats more impressive pendejo.

Now ontto the fight why are people so sure this is a ploy to get bon arum to move JMM vs bradley fight a month later we will see an injury from floy not because he is scared but because it makes more sense to build the kid up more and make that fight the last of pbd multififht contract

This fight do better than Mayweather-Cotto did at 1.5 million for several reasons. Its the biggest fight that can possibly be made in boxing right now for one. Indications point to Mayweather-Guerrero being a successful PPV because the general market carried the fight. Add the Mexican market to that and you likely have a fight that produces 1.7-2 million buys. This fight will also have GBP complete promotional muscle behind it with this fight having 3.5 months to be promoted. It actually would have been better if this deal got done a bit earlier but there is still plenty of time and I expect them to do more promoting than they did for the Guerrero fight.
