Someone Explain Why Ward is Rated So High P4P?

Didn't want to fight Bute?
He had a legitimate point about Bute doing nothing besides fighting journeyman in Montreal while everyone in the tournament beat up on each other. The same thing people are slamming Ward on here for right now. But at least Ward fought a couple threats in his hometown. I guess Bute agreed, because he did end up traveling and got torched by Froch.Comment

Since according to a lot of posters on here Kessler and Froch are just B and C level fighters?
Add to that Ward didn't even want to fight #2 Bute, while Froch handled him no problem. Instead dragging down Dawson who got worked over by Pascal and KTFO by Miranda in sparring?
Someone help me out here.
If you are debating someone with this mentality you really should just leave them alone. Carl froch is universally regarded as one of the 7-12 best fighters in the sport right now. why even waste time or give credence to someone who would label him a bum.
Ward is ranked #2 because he won the super 6 in dominating fashion. He deserves to be ranked high.Comment

It was a stay busy fight because Ward wanted to stay sharp and this still doesn't exactly answer for Bute's soft competition. Besides I'm fairly certain both fighters had obligations to their network so more than likely a fight of that nature wouldn't have been able to come to fruition until after the tournament was over.Comment

Watch the guy fight
Ward has all the atributes to be one of the best...He dominated the Super 6, Froch doesn't want to fight him again but will have to because he has no one else besides Kessler.. Do you think Froch or Kessler could have dropped Dawson, made him quit!.
Ward is one the best technical & agressive boxers out there right now...Ok, he fights at home, but he is used to going abroad, the guy is an olympic champion. Think they only fight in Oakland..
Give the guy his ratings he is a masterful fighter and will pick apart anyone they put infront of him...Frock rematch is just easy money for him...Comment

so you were ready to rank doniare behind rigondeaux before they fought? that's silly and wrong.
you're missing the point, doc. there's a reason why they fight the fights.
in boxing you are what you accomplish. context. who did you beat and when? everything else is a means to and end.
#1 Froch
#2 Kessler
#6 Abraham
#8 Bika
He basically clean out his division.Comment

How is Ward going to say to Bute he hasn't done anything at 168 but then bring Dawson down who also hasn't done anything at 168? It was clear Ward was weary.Comment

I think very highly of Froch (IMO he is a top 10 P4P guy) and Kessler is a little below that but not a ton, so Ward completely dominating both is extremely impressive to me, which is why on my P4P list he's number 2 behind Floyd. My list at this point is
1. Floyd
2. Ward
3. Rigo (and honestly I'd have him 2 except for not quite enough fights yet)
and then a big drop off after this but I'd have some grouping of Bradley, Martinez, Marquez, Froch, Pac, and maybe Broner (in no particular order).Comment

Simple, he's not Floyd Mayweather.
People will do anything not to have to listen or hear how Mayweather is number 1 P4P. They did it with Pacquiao, they did it with Donaire, alot of people actually pushed for Donaire to be ranked infront of Mayweather which is sickening. And they do it with Ward.
Once Mayweather stops boxing or falls off the rankings, surprinsgly so will Andre Ward. Is Andre Ward P4P??? Yes, just maybe the top 5, not 2.Comment
