  • Comments Thread For: Lara Wants Cotto, Canelo or Martinez After Angulo

On June 8th an interesting fight in the junior middleweight division will take place. Contenders Erislandy Lara and Alfredo Angulo will square off in Carson, CA as the co-feature to the Marcos Maidana-Erislandy Lara Showtime televised main event.

Lara spoke to us about the fight on BoxingScene Radio and said that he is excited to be on such a big fight card.

"It motivates me to put on a great show. I know that this is a big event and a big fight for me and I plan on putting on a great show," Lara stated.

You will be the mando..... but as we all know that means nothing for the WBC.
If Canelo drops the title, you'll be first in line....hopefully

Lara is very capable of looking great vs Angulo. If Canelo doesn't get Floyd, he's gonna fight Cotto. Lara vs Kirkland though sounds good to me.

Honestly this is sad but the truth is i think that if Angulo won even by robbery he would get the shots Lara is talking about but Lara winning wont earn him the same.

Lara should focus on trying to land a trout clash as they are both bicycle boxers and we all witnessed canelo put that defensive style to shame

Lara I hope you get that shot against Canelo as well and beat him down! I like Cotto I want him to fight a bounce back match to get him back winning... But don't expect Canelo to be too excited to jump in the ring with you!

Lara could lose to Alvarez. Alvarez made me a believer after his win against Trout. Hes not just a hype-job anymore. Lara struggled a bit in a few fights so it will be a hard task to beat Alvarez who is now the top dog at 154.

Lara has been calling all these guys out for years. He even wanted the winner of Berto/Ortiz at 147.

The best way to get the big fights is for Lara to simply stay active and keep on fighting. After Angulo (if you win) if you can't get the big fights seek a rematch with Molina, then with Vanes. Stay active and eventually they won't be able to ignore you. GGG is also there for the taking.
