I don't know ( and don't really care to be honest), I'm just recounting what people from the previous generaton have said. Point I'm making is everyone is going to make the claim that the problem xyz started with their generation, when the problems have existed since the sport's beginning.

This^. If you cant put butts in seats and cant draw as a ppv buy you will get looked over for a lesser fighter who has an entertaining fighting style or rabid fanbase such as Ricky Hatton did in his prime.

Well it does in the case of FMJ, his skills transcends both Ward and Mares. Mares in my opinion is just making into the P4P list just because he shows a range of skill in his last few fights but he does not seem to have that factor of dominant control that Mayweather showcases. Ward is my #3 on the list based on his skills which is a gritty style but he hasn't shown the versatility that is on par with Mayweather who is actually gritty in his own right when working the inside with his forearm and short uppercut to the torso of his charging opponents trying to smother him. Mayweather is so dominant because of his brain and skills, no fighter that ever comes in the ring with him will beat him. Guerrero who he just recently beat if he goes back down to 130 will destroy Mares easily, Floyd if he goes back down to 130 will destroy Mares easily, Mares skills are dookie compared to them.

Yeah, it's easy to have the factor of dominant control when you're suppose to beat the guy you're fighting. It's also easy to show versatility when you're doing it against someone you're supposed to beat.

Lets look at some things here, Mares has beaten fighters he was favored to lose to. Ward came into the super 6 as an underdog. Mares isn't even a 130lb fighter, but he's competed in weight divisions infinitely better than Floyd's 147 lb division and beaten better fighters pfp than those Floyd beat.

You're supposed to look good with Floyd's resume. Mares should already be defeated and Ward wasn't supposed to win the super 6. Floyd was supposed to beat all them guys he's faced, big big difference.

I'm confused?? Should I jump ship and jump on the (draw) wagon?? Should I start studying who the biggest draw is and forget about who the best fighter is. Why worry about who throws the more solid jab and uses angles and smarts to defeat top tier fighters and worry about who put fans in the seats. That's what it's all about now?? Then maybe forget about being the best by (beating the best) and act like being the bigger draw means you'r the best. That's whats going on now?

The one who brings the money has always called the shots. It's the nature of the business.

And that's fine. However the money bringer/shot caller doesn't mean the best fighter, pfp king. If you have the power to choose who you fight and choose to not fight the best, I don't believe you should have the title of "the best".
