I think the real problem Arum has with Golden Boy is that Golden Boy represents the "******" who became "the masters." Oscar, Bernard, and Floyd, are businessmen, which 'ol school fighters never were. They are boxers who have taken control of their destinies. 'Ol school promoters don't like that! They want their fighters to worry about fighting, and never worry about "the books."

HBO has more subscribers than Showtime so from a business standpoint I gotta painfully agree with Arum. HBO should have paid Mayweather that money because with Pacquiao on the way out HBO would have a lot more fights lined up if they still worked with Golden Boy.

If anything it's the other way around? Golden Boy had been moving off HBO and locking down Showtime for a while now. The guy who runs Showtime (Stephen Espinoza) used to work for Golden Boy.

Can you name one fight hat is happening on Showtime that isn't being promoted by Golden Boy?

Funny thing is, aside from DK the only fighters I see on Showtime are GB fighters. Why doesn't Showtime show DiBella fighters or Zanfer? Both which happen to work with Top Rank.

Am I wrong?

Dibella said he willing to have his fighters fight GB fighters on Showtime if it makes sense and Showtime never said they wouldn't work with other promoters

No room for other promoters at Showtime unless they fight GBP fighters I can picture Lou working with GBP but not Zanfer. Showtime is giving me more fights for my buck then HBO is tbh. You're asking for showtime to work with these other promoters when in fact HBO won't work with GBP.

When it's all said and done, GB and Top Rank basically turned boxing into Major League Baseball without interleague play. The only ones losing here are the fans and the fighters. It's no wonder UFC threatens boxing so much, since boxing is having its civil war with promoters.

"We Have A New Pacquiao", Which Means, Another Fight In Canelo, They WILL NEVER Fight

Schafer and company are already laying the ground work for why they won't fight Canelo, and making out that the public whoop this up everytime some great comes along.... the reason why the fans, the public bring these names up????? IS because Floyd will NEVER fight the best of the best, IN THEIR PRIME, win, lose, or draw. He's always very strategic as to WHO, and WHEN he fights, named guys... He made Mosley & Cotto wait more than 10 years, well past their prime. He always found reason to blame Pacquiao, and still to this day he won't fight Manny, and now says, manny has business to finish with JMM & Bradley... also says Manny isn't as marketable. OH PLEASE!!! A Mayweather/Pacquiao fight would sell out in an HOUR. Manny already agreed to all the demans of Mayweather, and Floyd balked. Now he throws the Canelo name around. Listen, if Floyd wouldn't fight Pacquaio, if he wouldn't fight Sergio Martinez in Sergio's prime, he certainly will never fight Canelo, but he will spin things to protect the image control, and give you the look he'd fight Canelo. NEVER happen, and just because Canelo would stalk him down, take away his heart, then knock him out. So quit talking about Canelo.

Pacquiao fought Mosely after Mayweather and Cotto maybe a year before. Did you complain then? Pacquiao is fighting his next fight overseas. Maybe because he knows his marketability is dwindling. Taxes!!! Seriously? Mayweather not fighting the best bs is way passed old. The rivalry between Paquiao and Mayweather is not even a rivalry any more. Mayweather has moved on and so should you.

I just dont think hiring Espinoza was the smartest idea. He's done some good things but I'm not sure how Showtime is gonna benefit in the long run.
