Pauli is his own man, I think he'd look for more lucrative paydays than Keith Thurman. Let's be realistic, Adrien Broner's a big draw and, dare I say, star in the sport; so a win over him would put Maliginaggi in the good spot to bargain for bigger fights.

Possible. Or you can let the Canelo fight marinate and maybe pickup another 250,000-300,000 buys down the line that will offset the lower number with a lesser known opponent.

There are plenty of scenarios. You don't have to profit on every single fight. You have to profit over the course of 6 fights. The Canelo fight will be the biggest of the six.

showtime's lawyers are furiously trying to find a way out of the contract as we speak. they don't want to destroy their company by giving this failure all that money they promised. hopefully they have some sort of final say on opponent selection because if they get 5 more guerreros' its over for them. hello bankruptcy.

Oh, you Floyd fans and your semantics. The fight is as big as it possibly can get. This doesn't have to turn into another Manny situation. Canelo loses to Lara, then what? Floyd ain't fighting Lara, and he has a reason to never step foot in 154 again.

          GTFOH.

Its going to come down to who makes the most buys for Showtime and least risk for Floyd to fulfill his contract. You can forget guys like Lopez being considered.

That's why I called it a "possible scenario". Not something I want to happen.

Canelo is the only possible megafight left. They knew what they were getting into before hand. A 6 fight deal with one of them being a major event.

Unless Pacquiao makes a miraculous comeback at some point.

That's like a 10m hit, I doubt Showtime can afford that, much less twice a year. Their budget is 30m. If they had 10m to waste, why didn't they just put it in their budget, they'd have been bigger than HBO already. Remember when HBO's budget was messed up for committing an extra 3m to Bradley and Devon's next date?

Garcia will happen in September I'm almost sure of it.

Then the big one next Cinco De Mayo.
