If you could reform boxing, how would you do it?

I love the sport but think it's clearly disorganized and messed up. Between the fighters, promoters, networks, useless belts, transparent weight classes, doping agencies, etc more and more factors come into play from preventing fights.

To make matters worse, us, the fans instead of doing something about it seem to cheerlead for whatever fighter, promoter, etc instead of doing anything about it. I understand people don't give a **** to take action but then why complain or point fingers?

So for the intelligent ones on the site, how would you reform boxing? In a perfect world that is. We all know too much money and corruption is behind the sport but if we could change it..

I'll start..and i'm not saying my solution is the best one by any means..

-One Boxing League or Association, one ranking system as it is in Tennis or Golf. (I don't follow either, but obviously it works) (Prevents Cherrypicking)
-Obviously divided between the weight classes
    -One doping agency
-Cities and networks bid to host fights
    -Events have multiple class headliners
-Promoters, trainers, fighters, etc have their own teams as in MMA or Racing. For example Team Top Rank, Money Team, Team Roach, Team Redbull whatever the case is. Obviously fighters within teams still fight each other.
-You have to be affiliated with a Team to fight
-Restrictions on moving up or down in weight classes. (Prevent cherry picking)

Just curious as to what your ideas are..

I'd have one champion per division and you'd have to fight the #2 guy every 12 months at least, unless A) You already fought and beat the guy or B) he refused to fight you.

I would eliminate some divisions for one. I would have three belts for each division with one being the main belt. Champions if not fighting another champion would have to fight top 10 competition all the time.

I would eliminate all the fans who call every fighter who holds a world champion a ducker. They can't fight every ducking fighter. I would also get rid of all the fans who call fighters runners. Them idiots don't know **** about boxing

have one unbiased ranking agency and the top 8 in each division fight in a tournament every year. next year tournament starts over with different rising guys or some of the same guys depending on how they did. this will prevent duckers who are ranked #1 from cherry picking easy competition and staying on top. you have to prove yourself every year. anyone who says they can't fight because their opponent lives too far away is immediately kicked out of boxing.

PED TESTING, PED TESTING, AND PED TESTING.

Boxing has an epidemic of drugs cheats in it, because virtually all fights have zero effective drug testing.

So I'd start with instituting a biological passport, such as they do in cycling, swimming, and tennis. This would be funded with 10% of profits from all fights.

And cheaters such as Lamont Peterson would be handed life time bans, with all prize money withheld, and would be rewarded with being sued in court by the promoters and governing bodies.

Wasn't aware of that passport, interesting.

The ones i bolded are bull****, wtf! what if i want to be my own boss.
listen i like how boxing is right now with the exception of these bull**** belts and countless weightclasses but to turn it into the ufc is wack!
And the whole tournament idea is bull****! what if i a fighter wants a rematch
and what if a fighter wants to fight more times than a tournament would give!
listen to ya selves right now! dont let these greedy promoters and cherrypicking fighters overshadow the intelligence of the human mind!

Boxing is great and has great potential!!
