The arrogant self publicist goes about telling anyone who will listen that he was a world champion. On paper, yes, but he neither won it in the ring or defended it.

Well Taylor may have disappointed but Abraham's middleweight reign was really sad.

He won a vacant title and defended it 10 times. Out of those 10 defenses Edison Miranda was by far the best opponent he faced. That really puts into perspective how awful his opposition was and how a 10 defense champ could get beaten so badly 4 times once he stepped up to world class.

But anyways, Peterson is a really good boxer and I have seen a lot worse world champions than him.
how i saw it as well...and not surprised peterson gets the decision in his OWN HOMETOWN...but it was nice to see someone like matthysse break him apart like he did.

Lamont Peterson represents a few things wrong with the sport of boxing. 1) The cheating involved, to win his belt he juiced up, the WBA made the correct decision in stripping him of his title, but the IBF dropped the ball by allowing him to continue serving as a champion. 2) Being champ whilst losing to Mathysse represents the politics that plague the sport, the moment it became clear that the additional pound was added to prevent putting the title on the line, the IBF should have stripped him of his title.

He's only defended it once against Holt. It hasn't been a impressive title reign, but far from the worst.

Valuev was worse. Ruiz actually beat him but was robbed.

But yea, Ruiz was excruciating to watch.

Alex Arthur gets my vote, but there have been some pretty bad ones. As far as Heavyweight's go...Buster Douglas had a pretty bad 'reign'. Beats Tyson, who trained mainly on a diet of geisha girls and *******, then turns up some months later only to do an impression of Jabba the Hut on a valium overdose against Holyfield.
