    Valuev?? That guy shouldn't even have had a belt in the first place. Both fights that got him there were from gift decisions. One of the worst title holders ever.

          I think Gamache was a good fighter. Gatti beat him having a big weight advantage over him and he also came up short against Tony Lopez. But just skillwise, Gamache was not bad.
          His first title was a vacant title against an unknown. He never defended it. Then he moved up to lightweight and got another vacant title opportunity against another unknown. In his first and only title defense he was knocked out.


          Gamache did have alright boxing ability but did not belong at the top of any division as his 4 knockout loses against top fighters indicates.

                if we aren't talking about alphabet straps, and you need to be a lineal champion with a long reign, it is this guy:


                tommy burns, 5'7" HW champion of the world (fighting whites only, i believe,) and racked up 11 defenses of a lineal title until he fought jack johnson and was DESTROYED.
