I'm telling yall, he's fighting Cotto. He knows he can win and he knows the fight will do numbers. They will hype up how tough the first fight was and ignore the Trout fight. And it's another way of getting back at Canelo.

He just defended his 147 title now he's gonna defend his 154 title, plus Floyd already said during his prefight conference call to the guerrero fight that he wants to defend his 154 pound title next.. Canelo is the only fight that makes sense on september 14th because it's a mexican holiday, canelo wants to fight on that day and specifically wants to fight Floyd and canelo isnt gonna do a split site undercard bout to floyd's fight.. Also Espinoza also said that Floyd wants to fight canelo and canelo wants to fight floyd.. the negotiations for the fight have already been confirmed..Lets just say that Floyd is fighting at 147 (which he won't) it wouldnt be danny garcia because garcia already said that he wasnt moving up to 147 yet plus why would garcia be present at the matthysse vs peterson fight if he was in negotiations for a floyd fight??, it wont be alexander because alexander wont sell on a mexican holiday plus has a broken hand, it wont be matthysse or khan either..There gonna match Khan with alexander at 147 so therefore if khan wins he'll be a world champ when he meets floyd.. all of those guys are at 140 and there NOT gonna let any of them jump to 147 and have there first fight at that weight against Floyd Mayweather..The vast majority of boxing fans are plain ****** seeing it any other way!!
whatever happen to the comedian

I really think that it will be Alexander? you ask my why? here's is why.
1.- With this showtime contract, the sooner the fight is announced, the better, so you start with the promotion right now, hype the match early and to guarante that the fight will sell at least on a decent level.
2.-Alexander broke his hand, why would you delay an announcement unless you really don't know for sure if your opponent will be able to fight at a certain date, I think Floyd's camp is scouting Devon's condition right now.
3.-The top 5 names in the welterweight divisions are as follows: 1) Mayweather 2) JMM (Top rank and you know what JMM just said about fighthing again with Floyd) 3) Timothy Bradley ( Top Rank ) 4) Devon Alexander ( GBP ) 5 Pacquiao ( Top Rank )
See the promotional companies list on bolds? There's no guy at top level on welterweight besides Alexander.
4.- Alexander has a good resume, he defeated Matthysse and Maidana, only loss came to undefeated Timothy Bradley.
5.- Alexander has very good speed to fight Mayweather.
Would I like to see this fight happening? Yes and No, Why yes and why no.
Why yes?
Because I think it's been a long time Floyd hasn't fought a guy with the speed and slickness of Alexander. Alexander can box and he's proved that, he's very good boxing skills. It would be a chessmatch, for boxing purists like me, I'd love to see that.
Why not?
Alexander doesn't have a name that sells PPV, Alexander doesn't have the power to hurt Floyd, Alexander is a world class fighter but he doesn't carry the charisma or the star to be a solid option for Floyd.
Conclusion
Would I like to see that fight? Yes, but it be tough for me to make a decision whether I pay for May vs Devon or JMM vs Bradley, I would go with JMM vs Bradley. Regards.

Matthysse has all this hype now, imagine if he's coming off smoking Garcia? Imagine a Garcia fight if Garcia smokes Matthysse? That's all anyone would talk about around here. Waiting would be best, unless Mayweather really is that determined not to fight Alvarez
That's why I think Canelo is next and it makes sense for him to be next.
Garcia-Matthysee winner is going to have huge hype around him.
And if Khan beats Devon his hype will return also. GBP are praying Khan wins that fight, by the way.
