The fight will be a big event for boxing, that's enough reason to make it happen. Right now Mattysse has this aura of knockout invincibility, which may or may not be exaggerated. Him fighting Danny Garcia will give us a lot of answers regarding that. Yes Garcia will be the underdog (story of his career), but once the fight approaches you'll see he has a lot more supporters. There's a lot of unknown about this fight because both pack a huge punch which is why it makes it very intriguing. Anybody labeling Garcia a bum if either still high from Mattysse KO'ing Peterson or is flat out ignorant.

Why does anyone care about this matchup when the overwhelming majority of posters believe Mathysse steam rolls garcia and ko's him early ?

If garcia is truly a bum and only has one good win on his resume by way of lucky ko and his other noticeable wins are against washed up ancient fighters. What does a win over garcia do for Mathysse legacy wise ?

I understand it wraps things up at 140 blah blah blah.

But if Mathysse beats him in the fashion 90% of the posters on this site feel he will ... Are we going to still call garcia a bum ? Or do the revisionists put garcia on a pedestal ?

it makes him he lineal champ and the best at 140. might elevate him into the top 10 p4p. it also gives him the best win on his resume to date.

can boxing fans be a little smarter and not use flo.mo logic??? Just cause we think Mathysse will beat Garcia, doesn't mean he will beat Garcia. There's a big difference, and that's why you gotta fight the fights to get the credit.

Well Garcia wasn't so much of a favorite against Morales the first time, but I get what you're saying. What I meant by that is the general consensus is that Gacia isn't such a good fighter and people typically sell him short.

He was actually a -340 favorite, that's pretty wide

Garcia is a good fighter but he has been matched perfectly. Khan is the only fighter he has faced that was anywhere near prime
