Matthysse, Russell Jr. and Lara (in that order) are up there, in my opinion. I dislike Broner, and he is overrated by many, but he doesn't crack the top three.

I don't understand how anyone can call Mayweather "overrated." I'm not a fan, but Floyd is an amazing boxer. He's an ATG who's been consistently rated the #1 P4P fighter in the world for years.

Overrated/ Danny Garcia. Good win vs khan. But since then he beat a shot morales .was hurt in three consecutive rounds with and old Judah. His style is really really basic nothin special. The winner of tonight's bout is the best at 140
Underrated/ rigondeux.the way he outclassed nonito was insane. The two gold medals. Just his overall skill set is something special. There's no way u can't have him in the top ten p4p.

ray probably forgot more about boxing in the last year than you know. he might not know the current scene as well as some others, but he's been around boxing for a long time.

actually, scratch that. before rigoneaux had a great win, or looked great anywhere other than a few spots over the course of a 12 round fight, he was the most overrated. this was pre donaire, obviously, where he showed his value.

i've never seen a fighter get as much unwarranted praise as rigondeaux got after rico ramos. it was rico flipping ramos... he was a sh#t fighter who had done nothing, and has gone on to lose or look like garbage in every fight since.

the difference is that rigondeaux has now lived up to most of the hype. some people are saying he's a hall of famer, etc, and that's overrating him, but calling him one of the best p4p in the world right now is appropriate, IMO.
Rigondeaux's reputation had virtually nothing to do with his demolition of Rico Ramos, NE. What guys like myself and a few others saw went past Rigo's pro exploits, which were obviously very thin at the time. Our "rating" was based on his apparent skills and ability, something Guillermo convincingly proved versus Donaire. When I think of an "overrated fighter," I think of someone who isn't likely to live up to the hype. "El Chacal" doesn't look like that guy.

he and pacquiao are considered the greatest of all time by some, though. this is an evaluation of the overrating that goes on in nsb, which isn't the most logical place.

you see both being horribly overrated.

Peter Quillin would disagree with you on that. "Kid Chocolate" is a pretty good fighter who is openly avoiding GGG. There's a good reason for that. Despite not having the resume yet, Golovkin is a beast.

I don't like to say Matthyse, but quite a few posters on this site act like he's this unstoppable rampaging beast.
