Canelo would definitely benefit from having a few more notable wins before stepping up to Mayweather but some of those names listed are ridiculous. Cotto in September, maybe another unification with a beatable Ishe Smith then Mayweather. A win over Cotto would be nice. A win over Ishe Smith could serve as a good promotional tool for a Mayweather Canelo fight seeing as Smith is a Mayweather promotions fighter.

Canelo has turned into a 2 fight a year fighter already. Pretty disappointing.

I completely agree. He's young and staying active would do him very well.

I was just making the point that the bigger the hype got, the less likely it seemed the fight would happen.

True! But mayweather started it. LOL, But for real, at the end of the day, if being the best is your top priority, not money, record, or bs, you will find a way to make that fight happen, even though money for sho was not the issue, the was gonna be a mega money fight, whole world wanted to see that fight. most people won't believe that pac man was the one not trying to make that fight happen, he don't have a history of that, but guess who does?

but see, in boxing biz, that's exactly what you want, HYPE. the more hype, the more money, so that don't make business sense.

Without turning this into a May/Pac thread, Pacquiao has had fights where he didn't seem interested, that would have been far better than what he did choose.

For instance, refusing testing to fight Clottey. Mosley instead of unbeaten Berto. No Guzman at 130. Diaz at 135 instead of Campbell or Casamayor.

But for real, I think Manny would fight anyone. I think Arum just runs him and his decisions on opponents.

I mean, im not throwing names in the mix for the sole purpose of promotion for the mayweather fight. a lot of people in mexico would love to see marquez vs canelo, I know he is old, but they don't like each other, they would go at it nicely.

oscar de la hoya said he like to see canelo vs martinez, thats a real fight, ****, they would go at it.

I did mean to mention Ishe Smith, he is the other one, probably instead of timothy.

Well according to the other deluded fanatics, it's Mayweather who should fight twice before Canelo - at 154 that is because he's not great there, not adjusted to the weight.

                    Make your darn minds up
