Canelo needs 2 fights before Mayweather

Is anyone in agreement here that Canelo might not be fully ready for a Mayweather fight. Yes, Canelo showed great improvement in defense, speed and power against Trout, but Trout ain't no Mayweather.

I feel we should see Canelo in 2 more quality/interesting fights that are going to test him, then fight Money May in September 2014.

This is how I see it: Canelo vs Maravilla Martinez in Sept 2013, this would be a nice action packed fight and it will test Canelo nicely. Cotto apparently is in the mix for this Sept fight, and Canelo did tell Cotto he would fight him and it would be a good fight to watch, but does it need to happen; not really.

Then for his 2nd fight (sometime April/May 2014), someone of the likes of Mayweather, with speed, first that comes to mind is Timothy Bradley (pending his win over Marquez, which might not happen, I like Marquez in this one), Devon Alexander should be another or better yet, Amir Khan (probably Canelo KOs him).

Others in the mix for this second fight, for me it would be interesting to see Canelo vs Marquez, Mayweather is a great counter puncher, Marquez is a great counter puncher, so that's mainly why it would be good for Canelo to fight Marquez, and the fact that they don't like each other very much, it should be a really nice fight.

Danny Garcia would be another good one for Canelo, although I think Canelo got Garcia all day.

Then the big showdown in September 2014 vs Mayweather. Though Mayweater has begun to appear like he is wanting to avoid this fight with all the 154 weight bs.

What you guys think? Any other fighters for Canelo before Mayweather?

If Canelo were to murder Cotto though, and than beat someone like Angulo/Lara, Ishe/Molina, or even Kirkland if he comes back strong, the hype for the fight might enter Floyd-Pac territory.

I think it's hilarious that people place sole blame on Floyd for that not happening. At different times, both guys f**ked it up royal, and Arum was probably the biggest reason it didn't happen.
