jim gray has huge balls. that is not easy. you can hear in his voice that he's not having an easy time doing all of that on live television while remaining composed. dude is professional.

Mora needs to go the F away. Like another on here said, he should be relegated to 4-6 rounders way down on the undercards, at the very most. He was obviously paid off. And he STILL does a pathetic job. Last fight I saw with him as ref, he did his usual breaking up the fighters way too quick (Cortez' favorite move). Really, he needs to go the way of Joe Cortez... join the We're Paid Off And Retired Club. I'd love to smack this jerk around a bit.

I give the guy credit for owning up to the calls. It is tough to officiate on any level and every official gets it wrong sometimes. I have more respect for a official the calls his own bad. Doesn't help Agbeko now, but he got his second shot. The speed of professional sports makes it difficult to make the perfect calls all the time.

I remember that night my whole family was watching the fight and we were horrified at the repeated ball punching by Mares.
Even my little sister that doesn't particularly like boxing was screaming at the TV at Mora.
I believe Mora had to be on the payroll for that night. No way can anybody be that blind unless they're doing it on purpose.
Agbeko probably would have lost anyway but at least he wouldn't be a eunuch right now.
I'd be surprised if he can have children after the repeated testicle blows.

^ agreed. I remember wifey getting upset with me because I kept waking the kids up from yelling at the tv. What's worse was that he ruled a knockdown a on a flush low blow where he was in perfect position and looking right at it. It definitely smelled of a payoff.

It was because of this fight and this interview that some commissions changed their protocol and now don't allow the ref to be interviewed in the ring post fight.

Maybe Mora was the ref JuanMa Lopez was referring to when he said the ref is a gambler, ha!

Mares righted the wrong in the rematch thankfully. But yeah, Mora shouldn't even be reff'ing

That was the most corrupt thing I think I ever saw in boxing. There was no doubt he was paid off. It is one thing to make a mistake, but something else to do it repeatedly throughout the fight and ruling the knockdown from the low blow. The icing on the cake for me was how arrogant and rude mora was after the fight when they tried to interview him. He should be banned for life, like a fighter with loaded gloves. He obviously has his price. Either that or he is so biased towards Hispanic fighters that he cheats for them to win. That too disqualifies him from being a judge.

I'm glad that he has admitted his fault. Funny thing is that I love watching Mares fight now. Mares should've been dq'd, but the kid can absolutely fight!

mares should have DQ'ed for the amount of lowblows that he threw and landed that night....disgraceful reffing..
