I think people are way too sold on Matthysse. Dont get me wrong, I like the dude and his fighting style, but what will he do when a guy boxes him?

As somebody mentioned, Lamont was able to survive the early onslaught of Ortiz, who was a HUGE 140 lber, then he came back and boxed all the way to a draw.

With that in mind, I believe Lamont will give Matthysse a run for his money.

I can see peterson winning a decision based off his high work rate and being smart. And just a quick note matthysse hasnt gone a full 12 rounds since judah back in 2010, will be curious how that works out especially if lamont puts in body work early in the fight.

I personally thought Ortiz done enough to get a decision in that fight with Lamont Peterson the early onslaught had me having him needing to do far to much.

As long as Matthysse doesn't go out solely looking for that one big punch the whole night he should be able to take Peterson.

I'm definitely thinking bout it, but i'm holding out to see what happens to odds. I'd prefer betting on Lucas.

Lamont could really be dangerous if he would fully turn his punches over...He obviously has naturally heavy hands, but his execution is just slightly off. He clubs his shots just a little bit a' la Timothy Bradley. I believe that's why he isn't taking guys out at the top level because he has no problem landing clean shots.

The issue there is that most people had him beating Alexander and Judah.

Spoken like a true fighter. The only problem is that huge gray area where his peds usage obstruct.
