Just be honest and say so, but don't say its to do with weight and that he can't do a catchweight because 4 plus years ago he already said he would do a catchweight.

Froch always says he wants to fight the best - well Hopkins is a legend, end of.
Maybe he changed his mind, a man can grow wiser in 4 years. Also Calzaghe was a fight he was desperate for because winning that would have made him more well known back then than he is now (in the uk at least) would have launched his career. He won't get credit for beating 48 year old hopkins especially at catchweight.

He also said he ain't fighting cleverly do you think he's ducking him aswell? Froch is 168 and cannot be ducking light heavies because it's a different division.

      Source?

If Froch takes the fight, I'll retract my words and say he will fight anyone but if he doesn't there is absolutely no excuse and yes he will have avoided Hopkins.
What if he fights the superior Ward instead?

Anyway, this is what Froch had to say:

Froch responded by saying that a fight with the legendary Hopkins would do big business at the box office, and admitted it is something that he would relish.

"Hopkins and me would be a huge money fight," Froch told the Daily Mail.

"First I have to focus on beating Kessler but I admire Bernard. He keeps in fantastic condition and would present a very awkward challenge.

"A fight of this magnitude matters more in its own right than the belt."

Sounds to me like he wants the fight but realises Kessler could KO the whole proposition.

Anyway, do you actually want to see these fights? I think they would both be very boring. A Stieglitz bout has more excitement imo.

the punch stats and the press row scored it for froch...even dan rafeal and many stewart scored the fight for froch.

Nice try though, dirrell had a bloodied face, froch didn't have a mark...

That's because Dirrell was running in the other direction.

Not engaging for 9/10 rounds out of 12 rounds doesn't equal a schooling. I can admit Ward schooled Froch but Dirrell didn't, he tried to cheat him.

Again, Froch has said he is willing to travel to the US again to fight Ward.

Or Bernard sees one last huge payday. I think Hopkins probably wins but he's talking about a 'superfight' which means he has money on his mind.

BattleNelson reckons Hopkins turned down a Kessler fight years ago.

They're all pretty boring let's be honest. Great skills but their fights are short on action (imo anyway).

Wiser or more - if he can do it to face Calzaghe at LH he can do it to face another LH.

He'll get more credit beating him than avoiding him

              a) at a catchweight

              b) in the UK

He's said he can do a catchweight before so he can make it, Hopkins is 48 and willing to drain himself and extra 4 pounds to make the fight.

He also said he ain't fighting cleverly do you think he's ducking him aswell? Froch is 168 and cannot be ducking light heavies because it's a different division.

Cleverly is LHW and yes I do think he is because it is a huge draw domestic fight that would give him a LHW strap - so if he thought he could win that fight he'd take it.

Anyway, Hopkins isn't asking to fight at LH but catchweight, which Froch said he can do.

If Froch can't make a catchweight let alone LHW and its the weight not the opponent - then he can kiss goodbye to being a 2 weight world champion.

                ---------

Interview i saw he said it wasn't really a fight he wanted coz it wasn't exciting etc - he seemed reluctant.

Ward is no:1 as good as a win over sliding Kessler could be (if he gets it) - it'll mean Froch has never been no:1 in his division unless he fights and beats Ward.

Style of the fight should be irrelevant in that case he should want revenge at all cost and get that no:1 spot.

If he said he'll go there to US to fight Ward again, well that's talk, if he does it, full respect to the man.

I don't think Froch cares much about being a 2 weight world champion, he's only ever focused on the SMW division with the exception of Calzaghe. He's 35 now and it doesn't appear to be on his agenda.

I know the interview you're referring to and that was a while ago, he has since stated otherwise (in 2013).

SAJ, your posts are hard to follow because you're not using the quote function, all you have to do is click reply under any post and then write your reply under it.

You seem a little anti-Froch if you don't mind me saying (which is fair enough). Are you a JC fan, a BH fan or an AK fan?

Hardly cant miss....The fight does nothing for me if im honest.

Another Hopkins borefest more likely than not, i respect him as a fighter to the absolute fullest but i dont think Cant miss and Hopkins go together at all!

Froch shouldn't take this fight unless its very lucrative... an offer too good to refuse
