edit: No fighter in Mayweathers position would have chose Margarito and Cotto over DLH.
Not talking about choosing cotto/margarito over oscar.

Floyd could have beaten oscar in 2007 and in 2008 his biggest fights were margarito and undefeated cotto and both would have done monster ppv numbers.
But floyd went into "retirement" and came back after cotto, margarito beat the hell out of each other.

Dude just pretend these top rank fighters don't exist, cause whether we're talking "prime" (whatever that means) Cotto or Jessie Vargas, it doesn't matter. Floyd isn't dealing with Arum and Arum isn't dealing with Floyd. Deal with it. All this duck talk is crazy.

As good as Floyd is, I put him one level below those guys. That whole era was talented. To beat Hearns and Leonard, you would have to do more than try and outbox them. Leonard saw that he couldn't outbox Tommy because the reach and height was just too much. He had to bite down and fight him. Floyd is great but he has always got by on skills alone. That just wouldn't happen if he fought those 2 guys. Duran and Pryor would have given him hell too. He would be forced to go flat footed and exchange with those guys. Pot shotting would just not do it in that era. Anyone that disagrees, simply go back and look at old footage of those guys. Floyd gave Guerrero a boxing lesson, but can you honestly imagine what Leonard and Hearns would have done to him??? Tommy would have crushed him early like in round 2 or 3. Ray would have showboated and had the crowd on their feet humiliating Guerrero until the KO came in the later rounds. That was just a completely different era than this.
the problem with your comparison of floyd vs guerrero and hearns/leonard against guerrero is that youre comparing a 36 year old floyd to the best versions of hearns and leanord

by the time those two were 36 hearns was a blown up shell of himself and leonard was done

i think it would have been a toss up for floyd in either fight

I don't think Floyd is GOAT, that will probably always remain SRR. But he IS top 5 EVER. They will learn to appreciate him in due time.

No. Paulie must be looking for the Mayweather payoff.

            Top 40 - 50 ATG

Arum would deal with floyd, he just wont deal with Golden Boy.
If mayweather promotions wanted to do a co-promotion with top rank for a cotto fight or margarito fight then Arum would gladly cave to any of floyd's demands.

Arum has a long history of making mega-fights like Oscar-tito and SRL, hearns, duran, hagler fights in the 80's and some ali fights in the 70's

Floyd wont do business with Arum becasue why?????

Arum guided him to big money ppv's and then floyd bought out his contract to become his own boss.
I understand floyd wanting to be his own boss but if he is his own boss then why does he always use Golden boy
MAybe because Arum's stable consisted of prime cotto, prime margarito, prime manny, and floyd looked over at golden boy and saw jmm, old mosley, hatton, khan, guerrero

Its just always been skeptical of floyd's retirements. Its obvious that he never wanted these fights. he wants to preserve his '0'

Thats why now everybody wants him to fight a young green canelo and he wants a catchweight or 147.
I think floyd is the best p4p but he does dodge fights and uses the excuse of bob arum. Fairly plain to see

If Floyd goes undefeated against some more top comp his last 5 bouts he can be considered top 2 or 3 ATG.

Floyd hasnt beaten any greats in their primes, so to put your money on Floyd is a bit wishful thinking really. Id bet Floyd senior would put his money on SRL to beat Floyd. Hes fought SRL afterall.
Maybe it's the fact that he's.........IDK.............UNDEFEATED. How is such a **** user allowed to post on this board? Unreal.
