Golden Boy needs to get Mares some better names. There's Santa Cruz but where does he go after that? Johnny Gonzalez is the only half decent name. They can keep him busy with his mando too I guess. Santa Cruz is the only really buzzworthy fight it seems and it seems a bit premature.

Arum doesn't give a **** about him because he does not have the potential to be the next Ali, DLH, Mayweather, or Pacquaio.

Rigo is straight up boring and will never have a huge following outside of hardcore fans and a tiny Cuban minority.

Donaire had the potential of picking up where Pac left off, but Rigo has nothing going for him. His ring skills are second to none, but his personality is anything but affable and he can't speak English worth a damn.

No matter what promoter he chooses, the guy will always be the best boxer that could never transcend the sport like the greats always could.

I can see Top Rank letting Rigo fight mares. Bob has already said its gonna be difficult promoting Rigo, if golden boy offers them a sum of money for Rigo's services im sure Top Rank will allow it. They wont have to promote anything.

I take my hat off to Mares, he is tough, has some pop, grit, and he comes to fight. He MAY beat Donaire, but he won't beat Rigo in a million years.
