Props to wlad for being honest, but you still can't pay me to watch his boring ass fights against overmatched opposition.

I dont know if this is the same thing. I get the rub, but I think interesting people have stories told about them. Are the Klits interesting?

i agree about the superbowl not necessarily being a reasonable field for comparison. i didn't want to compare the scale, only the brotherhood angle. half of the country watches the superbowl. i don't want to make it appear as if i think half of the country would tune in to a klitschko fight if they were from texas.
and on the bold:
absolutely. i think they'd fill a void, the way alvarez, floyd, oscar, and so many others have. i could see them being stars. like anybody else you'd need to start them young and develop their popularity, and even then, the public chooses it's stars. i think the american public would find the klitshckos to be endearing characters if they were american. i could be wrong.Last edited by New England; 05-13-2013, 10:54 AM.

WOmens sports yes-Maybe peggy fleming or dorthy hamil, gabby douglass or mary lou retton.
Says more about the US viewer than the Klits though. Perhaps they should attract more viewers.

As much as I don't like him, he is absolutely right. The object of the game is to hit and not get hit and that is why he's been in the game for 17 years. He tried to duke it out years ago and got knocked down several times. He has to use his height and reach advantages to win and thats what he should do. He shouldn't be critizied for using his best skillset to win fights. His opposition is going to use their best skillset. I just want the Klits to really look out there for the best competition and get in the ring with them before they retire. Other than that, I can't complain.

people are impatient. wladimir knocks almost everybody out and he looks good doing it. he hardly gets touched. he's in a class with rigondeaux, ward, and mayweather in that regard. hopkins in his prime, too. people hardly touch him.
pardon me for appreciating that.
the same "fans" that hug rigo's nuts, or floyd's nuts, are often the guys calling wladimir boring.

I'd be inclined to agree with him if he was defensively minded and dominating against excellent opposition. The fact is he's safety first against mediocre opponents at best. That is why Klit is not great.
Much better fighters have knocked out much better opposition.
