That's because they're willing to make 154. Boxing works on weight classes.

im puzzled about that too, I think they(mayweathers) want to infuse into the public's mind that he's a little guy fighting big men to make him look braver? lol pathetic...

Flomos need to stop crying about weight, Manny Pacquiao at 148lbs took on Antonio Margarito at 165lbs with no complaints.
there was lots of complaints and Margarito was not ranked in the division fight was at a catchweight for a vacant belt

Are you sure he was 165? Either way, Floyd did the same thing with Ortiz. However, Ortiz & Margarito are not Canelo. It is not the same at all. Besides, that was the same Margarito who was just decapitated by Mosley and was without his gloves. Its not the same as a young strong ox. Put this Canelo in with that Margarito and watch what happens

You're (deliberately?) missing the point, Manny Pacquiao didn't complain about facing an opponent who outweighed him by 20lbs on fight night. Pacquiao fans didn't complain either.

again, comparing the 2 is night & day. Come on man, its not the same. Floyd can fight a ton of 170 plus pound guys right now also. It doesnt make them Canelo

Thats not even an argument so why do people keep brining it up. He's the #1 P4P fighter in the sport and the biggest money maker. That means he's bigger than the title. He doesnt care about getting stripped because whenever he wants to fight at 154 again, he can go straight for a title because any of the champs will want to fight him
Well it is an argument. Weird to say it's not. He has a belt and a high ranking there. He should clearly say he doesn't want to fight there because its too heavy, then drop the belt and ranking. Then it'd be fine. But instead, he goes on and says how he knocks out junior middleweights and middleweights, and he'd fight anyone.

Beyond it all though, it just highlights this era of boxing. It's a sin to suggest someone should go up in weight because of this highly prized 0 or undefeated streak. It's pathetic. You have to dare to be great. Compare Jones to Mayweather, and you see my point. Right now, you can claim to be the greatest, but there's so many if's and buts after it, it's ridiculous. I.e Mayweather is the greatest, but only if he fights here, and at 147. Yawn.

I'd say the same about Manny Pacquiao too. But at least he admitted 154 was too much for him. That's how Floyd should go to instead of fooling the casual fans here.

I felt Cotto won some fights at 140 strictly because he was too big for those guys. Otherwise Chop & maybe Torress beat him
Sure Cotto is a little bigger, but obviously not more effective at SWW and he doesn't need weight stips against these guys. Except for one eyed Marg, he needed one there to get unshot.

Anyway, nice of you to admit Cotto was a cherrypick at 154, as far as belts were concerned. You coulda done so any time in the past 12 months Forgot I guess, like Floyd forgot to drop that 154 belt.

Yes, Margarito was 165 and Pacquiao 148. Margarito is also 5'11 tall compared to 5'6 Pacquiao.

I have no real issue with Floyd saying Canelo is too big. If he's too big, then say he's too big and vacate the belt. Don't try to force him down or put up roadblocks.
