Manny Pacquiao vs. Brandon Rios Predictions & Info

Rios is tailor made for Pacquiao. Comes straight forward with little defense and gets hit a lot and never adjusts. Target practice for Pacquiao. It'll be like Pacquiao-Margarito/Diaz. Smart move by Arum! Get Pacquiao a good motivational fight after such a brutal KO. Rios only has a punchers chance. He's going to get dominated from rd 1 until it ends. BUT, this is assuming Pacquiao isn't traumatized by the KO. Rios is nothing special. Granite chin and being relentless doesnt really work on the elite level.

A slower, more paced Pacquiao puts a whopping on Rios. I believe that Rios will have a hard time landing clean on Pacquiao as others have said. A 75% version of Pacquiao is too good for this fight to even be competitive. I believe Pacquiao is showing some signs of slowing down, but I believe its more due to lack of dediciation, and training than age. I also think the knockdown has damaged his psyche but I hope that his physical chin is fine. I think its more the PTSD that damages the fighters. Not all KO victims end up like Roy. If you notice all of Roy's knockout losses have come from, or been set up by shots to the backish side of the head. Pacquaio took Marquez's shot straight to the head, from the front. This is a much more protected part of his head.
I think the drug testing is not even to bait Mayweather, or out of fear of Memo. It is more out of sending the message the he believes that Marquez was juiced for the fight.
I believe that Rios only fights one way, he has some minute boxing skills up close but requires a stationary target. Pacquiao will never be stationary, and has never been stationary in any fight.
Pacquiao by easy, bloody KO/TKO.
This fight ends like the Margarito fight, while not even being as competitive (if you can even call the Margo fight that, I did remember Margo hurting Pacquiao in round 4 and maybe he did ok in one of the later rounds 10?).

Unless the KO makes Pac gun shy and has lost a step in his movement, Rios doesn't stand a chance.
You just can't teach Marquez's timing and counterpunching overnight. Not even 6 months, Rios would have to become a completely different fighter. Plus I think his power is alot like Maidanas, not true one shot power, alil overrated.
Pac brutally stops him late after putting a beating on him. Rios might take 2-3 rounds in the early rounds as Pac loosens up/shakes off the rust and maybe is a lil more gun shy but once he finds his rhythm Rios is taking a worse beating then Margarito.Last edited by $Bullsfam$; 05-12-2013, 11:48 PM.

Unless Pac has severely lost a step since the Marquez loss he should win this by KO at any time he sees fit. Rios is the perfect comeback opponent for him. A brawler with heart and little defense. Which is precisely why he was chosen.
