the best part was when you said "it's my opinion that he aint paying jack squat for it!"
man you're something else
Yea because they play favorites, and based off the facts that Floyd doesnt really care about belts, I know he wouldnt pay them money just for nothing. Just so he can say he has a belt. Belts are for young upandcoming fighters who need to get in the mix, and have something of value. To them its a business opportunity.
what are gingers terms? fighting at 154lbs isn't a "Ginger Term", it's the ****ing terms of the weight division
what exactly are you arguing here? you sound pretty dumb to debate this
You obviously haven't received the latest memo. Floyd Mayweather is a welterweight who consistently weighs a pound under the 147 lbs division on weigh ins and who hydrates no more than 3-4 pounds on fight night.
Moreover, he walks around between 155 and 160 lbs. The last I've checked, Canelo walks around between 180 and 185 lbs. Floyd is the much smaller man and just because he defeated a heavier and stronger fighter for his title at a higher weight class doesn't necessarily mean he belongs at that weight class.
I take it that you are not a Mayweather fan and is desperately waiting for him to lose. You want him to fight a man who is naturally wider, stronger and 13 years his junior and outside of his natural weight class of 147 lbs; So he wouldn't have his faster legs and absorb punishment.
Many fighters in the past have jumped several weight classes in order to win titles, just to move back down and campaign at their most natural and comfortable weight, which is exactly what Mayweather is doing at this moment.
LOL, this thread didn't even exist when I last was on NSB last night, and it's at 81 pages. There's no way there's that much to talk about concerning this.
marvin, you realize floyd has 2 wins and a title at 54 right? so he will only fight old, washed up fighters at 54? think about it like this dude, floyd has fights at 54, floyd says size dont win fights, floyd fights fighters at the weight that they are most comfortable in ala cotto. floyd came in OVERWEIGHT for the marquez fight so he would understand a couple lbs difference on fight night cause he's been on the other side of the fence. i'm can't understand how anyone can defend this from mayweather? people talk about" oscar called the shots" and thats what floyd is doin, but the fact is that floyd has a 54 belt and has fought at that weight before. this is ur hero? this is a man who challenges himself and always fights the best? this is a man who gives his fans what thety want to see? a man called money turns down the 2 biggest payday fights that can be made( manny, canelo)? for anyone to say that it's unrealistic for the fight to be at 54 should remember that they should be boxing fans 1st, and mayweather fans 2nd cause this is indefensable for any p4p little loan the #1 p4p.
Look Mayweather has moved up twice to fight Delahoya and Cotto. He is a two time jr middleweight champion.
But with that said....... moving up to 154 AGAIN and fighting Canelo who would weigh 172-175 come fight is ******.
Ward made Dawson come to him at 168.
Ward did not make Dawson come down, Dawson challenged Ward at 168 lbs,
Dawson did what a fighter should do, he challenged Ward at 168 lbs for the SMW belt and he went down and tried to win it.
You don't challenge a smaller guy and make him move up, Floyd challenged Delahoya and Cotto and moved up to get it, Canelo walks into fights 20+ lbs over the 154 limit, yet he fights smaller guys all the time, maybe he should be challenging someone his own size.
I've said this before ill say it again. Canelo WANTS to fight Floyd. Floyd IS the p4p champ. Why should Floyd have to go to 154 to allow Canelo to fight him? If Donaire called Floyd out would you expect Floyd to drop to 126?
He doesnt have to go anywhere. He is the current wba lmw champ and holder of the wbc's lmw diamond belt.
