Ponce De Leon doesn't have many dimensions himself, he was able to take Broner's power and that started to deter Broner later in the fight.
Gonzalez had very good defense in that fight, on par with Broner's. I'm guessing Burns vs Broner would have been a more competitive fight than some people assume. Broner most likely wins it but with Burns making it one of his toughest fights.Comment

It was basically what my fight night champion games looks like.
Other guy picks Tyson, I use Holyfield (always)
- Guy kicks my ass, crazy uppercuts, body shots, switching stances, big haymakers landing for 3 or 4 rounds. I offer jabs and right hands in return mixing the head and body
- Tyson gasses out trying for a KO, Holyfield turns it on, combos to the head and body either force the 10 count or a rage quit.Comment

I think Ponce got Broner at the right time. It was fairly early in Broner's development (it still is, but he's definitely ahead now than what he was then) and Broner has also looked better as he's moved up in weight. Ponce was also a former world champion, and obviously far, far more experienced than Broner.Ponce De Leon doesn't have many dimensions himself, he was able to take Broner's power and that started to deter Broner later in the fight.

I think Burn's style is made for Broner. I don't see that fight being all that different than the De Marco one, although Burns might be a little more resilient. But Broner would unload on Burns with multiple combinations and Ricky wouldn't be able to do much other than cover up in his shell.Comment
