Alvarez Now A Tougher Fight Than the 2006 De La Hoya?

which is the bigger test and better win for Mayweather jr?

DLH was coming off Mayorga, looking great, at a good weight, and this was Mayweather's first fight at 154

Alvarez is younger, stronger, with good skills and Mayweather has gotten older and looked vulnerable at 154 his last fight.

Which will be tougher/the better win?

Obviously? You think he'll just go balls to the wall like Delahoya did early trying to win rounds? DLH probably nicked off 4 rounds from Floyd

De La Hoya. Canelo's resume is still paper thin and he didn't beat Trout by more than a point or two.

Hard to tell. Floyd's a better fighter now then he is now. A little more experienced at 154 with the Cotto fight. Floyd gave Oscar more respect then he deserved. Caught up on who Oscar was and not what he was at the time.

So all that into account. Floyd might have easier time depending on how Canelo wants to fight.

I think Oscar back then was still better than the last canelo we saw. I think that Oscar would have beaten trout more convincingly at the very least.

No, he's physically much greater but DLH was still a very intelligent fighter whereas Canelo has a pretty marginal ring IQ and looks lost when he takes hits.

Any version of Oscar, even the old shot version is better than Canelo.

Canelo needs to hook up with a trainer that will teach him how to counter punch and have a better defense.
