Why is everyone so high on Canelo vs Mayweather?

Ya Canelo beat Trout, but barley.... to me i thought it was an extremely close fight and wouldn't have been surprised to see trout with the decision at the end. And this was the only decent win he has ever had, besides trout his resume is complete garbage. Canelo throws powerful and nice combos, but half the time he takes the round off, and vs trout he threw like 30 punches per round. Now with mayweather back with SR and fighting more defensive, I don't see a very action filled fight. And the only threat canelo poses to floyd is size.

I would way rather see floyd fight martinez, pacquiao or the winner of the 140 lb tournament. State your opinions and comments please.

The prospect of Mayweather being in the ring with an actual live body makes the matchup more exciting than it really is. Think of it like, you've been dating an ugly fat chick for 3 years, you break up, and immediately get into another relationship with an average-looking girl. To everyone else she's meh, but to you she's a supermodel.

Seriously though, this should be Mayweather's biggest challenge in at least 5 years so that alone should provide some excitement.

What has me dying laughing is everybody calls Floyd a cherrypicker for fighting Guerrero who earned his fight becoming a top WW.

Yet if Floyd would have fought Canelo and won it would have been a cherry pick anyway because afterwards "Canelo never beat a top 5 opponent." But atleast since Floyd fought Guerrero, Canelo actually got to fight Trout and gain alot more respect. Sure he didn't stomp Trout, and the judges helped, but he still gave Trout hell and earned respect. But his nuthuggers are ridiculous.

OP Martinez is injured. Pacquiao already has an opponent. The winner of the 140 tournament won't be decided until later this year.

Mayweather v Canelo is the best fight that can be made for September 14th.

They gave up on Manny and moved to the next bandwagon. So be it. Just be prepared to read all the "Canelo was too green excuses" before and after their fight

So now, Canelo "barely" beat Trout? He exposed a fighter that beat Cotto. Floyd's best win in years.

this is the problem with showtime guaranteeing cherrypicker $32 mil / fight... cherrypicker has no incentive to make tougher fights... he'll just fight the weakest opponents and he'll still get paid... he doesn't even care about the fans or the promotion or the fight or the legacy anymore

I said the same thing. People said his fight with Guerrero was boring well I wonder how his fight with Canelo is going to be with Floyd knowing this guy is bigger and stronger then he is... It's going to be another "boring" fight.
