I have to agree it is an own goal but not for Manny. It is true that this is 4 years too late and it's a shame it took getting his clock cleaned to finally make his team see sense. But the own goal is for all those argued so hard that Manny shouldn't need more stringent testing and that it's a waste of time, even worse that he's going to use the agency his fans have been trashing for a while now.

It's funny to see them saying "now what!?" ather than addressing the obvious. Why now? Why USADA?

I'm glad it's happening and don't have any malice towards Pacquiao. Just disappointed he refused to take this step years ago and make the fight we all wanted to see.
Thats just your opinion and I cant say I agree with it. As far as seeing sense goes, hindsight doesnt really apply here in this instance. The Mayweathers handling of the issue 4 years ago was frankly disgraceful, and I cant say that even they agree with what you say as they were forced into a rather embarrasing public apology some years after. I could relate to Manny telling floyd to do one at the time and eventually it was an issue that was overcome only for floyd to demand 100% of the ppv.

There really is nothing to applaud here, not for manny's or floyds fans. This generation lost its superfight over this crap and its only floboners that seem to be overjoyed about that(which is weird). Floyd watched a hundred million dollar plus payday hit the canvas face first in december, something I doubt that he is too thrilled about, and for what?

The only way for testing to be effective is if its all year round and to this date, neither floyd or manny have subjected themselves to that, so like I said...Whats to applaud?

come on man. Just be an adult. Manny refused the fight over ped's. if he had taken this position in 09 fight would've happened. Its that simple.

Lets hope we move closer to a floyd manny fight.

I wouldnt exactly say Manny backed out in 2010...14 days or 7 days was distinctly trivial and ridiculous for floyd to reject.

bla bla bla fact is both fighters are to blame for that fight not happening not one single fighter is to blame and if anyone says different they are lying to themselves

I don't know if I can agree with this considering Arum has been on record numerous times talking about he doesn't need or want to work with Mayweather. Even Freddie Roach said after the 3rd Marquez fight that Arum told him that in the ring. Also, no one seems to remember Ariza saying on Twitter that Arum is the reason the fight hasn't happened. Fact of the matter is that their should have never been any 2nd, 3rd, 4th or whatever negotiations but rather ONLY 1.

Manny walked away when it mattered. I never believed he was dirty but only made to look spectacular against guys he was faster than. If he fought Marquez in 2009, he would have looked like the same Manny from 2008. The only thing I blame Mayweather for is not coming forth when he went on vacation and call Arum, Roach and Pacquiao out about the Top Rank clock. When Floyd wanted to fight Manny before he went in Arum said he needed to build a stadium and that Manny had a cut that would take more than 6 months to heal?

Those are excuses homie. Floyd should have just fought him without the tests but now look at where we are. Pacquiao wants to test with the same USADA Mayweather does years later. Fight lost a lot of luster though. Floyd is considered the top fighter in the sport and Manny is below Marquez a guy Floyd already beat.

After the first negotiation, it was a moot point to argue over cut-off dates since Floyd made it clear (and in hindsight I agree) that no cut-off or no fight.

Also, Team Pacs final offer in the first negotiation was 20 days, iirc, which Floyd then countered to 14 days... Which is why to this day it sucks that the fight fell apart over 6 days, assuming money wouldn't be the next hurdle (I thought it would have been).
