Why do so many people still buy PPV fights? It's 2013, not 1993

Everyone these days has a computer/laptop with a high speed internet connection. It's extremely easy to stream any live feed for FREE. I don't understand why people are paying $50-$60 for a PPV fight when google is your best friend.


Anyone have an explanation for this?

HD quality, plus it's a way to support the sport of boxing, and support your favorite fighters.

Having said all that, I haven't ordered a PPV in a long time. LOL.

Because I make a good amount of money and I like the quality. If you paid for it you don't have to worry anywhere near as much about crappy resolution, freezing/choppy feeds, or the PPV being shut off midway through a fight.

There are no reliable streams and bad quality, haven said that I still stream everything because the commentary in UK is horrible so I stream the American boxing channels like showtime/HBO.

i dont understand this either. i go to my friends house to watch ppv's. he hooks his laptop up to the tv and streams it. nobody finds the matches less entertaining because we're seeing it for free.

it's almost as if people want to and prefer to pay for fights and not just something they deal with because it's the only option. it baffles me.

I could see the occasional stream for certain fights, if you catch yourself at home on a weekend and nobody wants to come over to watch a fight.

But most of the time people have company when watching fights.

You do realize that a lot of the time someone has to buy a PPV to stream it out for you guys right? Not to mention streaming isn't exactly legal. If you want to stream a fight that's fine but wondering why people are going about the legal way to support the sport and watch the fight reliably is weirder to me.

The less people buying PPVs, the more the sport of boxing declines. (Barring a spectacular return to network television)

That's my opinion anyway.

That is simply not true. There are a lot of very good streams out there that are HD and do not chop.
