Perfect example of a Donaire Left Hook that was NOT executed properly.

Just because that left hook landed it doesnt mean it was solid.

or has the same power left hook that KTFO Darchinyan and Montiel.

Then you add in the fact that Abner looked really solid at 126 and that's a big advantage for him there. PDL can ****, and he took his best shots over and over. Mares is well versed against southpaws as well, Vic, Moreno and now PDL on his ledger. If Rigo is going to win, he better come to fight because Mares does not and will not for him to initiate the action. The kid is smart and k owns how to tailor his game to each fighter. He's not going to try to outbox Rico, he's going to fight him every minute of every round. Rico better hope he has enough to withstand the barrage. Mares looks solid, real good at featherweight.
If he try to rush Rigondeaux he will need a liver transplant or a new set of eyes, the fight will not be at 126 because Rigondeaux is in reality a 118 pounder, still he kick marroquin a$$ and he was 130's fight night, same donaire he was 142 and got his a$$ hand it to him...

Ok wtf you talking about you can see Donaire walk straight back with no defense in mind thinking he just nailed Rigondeaux and he just comes back and nails the unexpecting Donaire because he's used to when he hits guys with that they back down, all you guys trying to do is find some way in hell to give Mares a chance and your'e Reaching badly and it shows find something else because a k.o not going to be Matter of fact you can actually see Donaires surprised face after he gets hit more proof then what your eyes see is not possible and youre too in love with Mares to see admit otherwise.

          • I'm going to have to take Mares. Sure Rigo looks appealing because of his def and boxing skills. But Mares has fought big fights where he wasn't expected to win. He's been KD, got up, dug deep and won. How many times can Rigo say he's done that? I have to give Mares the benefit of the doubt as he has put the work in a deserves to receive credit. All of his fights are tough which makes him perform at the highest level. He wins an ugly/boring fight.

trust me, once Mares catches that glass chin of Rigo you will see Rigo do a chicken dance. Mares is a good finisher he will follow up and it will be over quick, nightie night.

Rigo got wobbled by B Class fighters. if Donaire landed one of his KO shot Rigo would have been KTFO No Doubt. Rigo executed his game plan, it wasn't pretty but it worked, and Donaire helped Rigo look good by not pressing the action.

surviving Donaired doesn't mean he has a solid chin.

RIGO got a GLASS CHIN. that's the bottom line.
You seem to be one of the few remaining people that still believe "El Chacal" has a "glass chin." It's causing you to read a little too much into my post. I never said, nor implied, that Rigo has a "granite chin." But I've seen enough now to be convinced that Guille doesn't have a "glass chin," as you are so fond of repeating. I was one of those guys that had my doubts about Rigo's beard coming into the Donaire fight. I was at Radio City and cringed when Guillermo caught a couple of punches early on. Nonito may not have landed his utmost best shot, but he landed well enough. Since Rigo tends not to get hit often and cleanly, I'm convinced his chin is plenty good enough to keep him on top of the heap for some time to come.

Trust you? You mean like all the Donaire fanatics that bet me billions of points that Nonito was gonna KO Rigo early? lol Please. First of all, Donaire is generally regarded as the hardest puncher at 122. Secondly, Guillermo's chin isn't nearly as bad as you laughingly make it out to be. Thirdly, "El Chacal's" defense is world-class; it would be a challenge for Mares to land something good enough often enough. Fourthly, Abner's style will play directly into Rigo's main strengths. This match-up has a Rigondeaux UD written all over it, although it wouldn't surprise me at all if Guille stops the kid.

i like Donaire but I'm not a big fan.

Donaire did not land a solid KO punch, if he did he would have KTFO Rigo. Simple as that, the best punch was when he knock Rigo down, that's it, even that one was out of position. Rigo's chin is weak. He got wobbled by B class fighters. Mares has an excellent chance of stopping him.
