Mares wants to fight Rigo!

You never know with styles. I.E. Forrest - Mayorga. Rigo is a perfect boxing machine with complete control over every muscle and tendon in his body however. Rigo UD in a wipeout IMO.

That notion has been disproven. Rigo took some hard shots from Donaire, including a left hook on the break, and never flinched. If anyone gets KOed in this match-up, it's Abner. In pressing the action, Mares will subject himself to some heavy, accurate shots. "El Chacal" is a defensive specialist and a counterpunching menace. Once Abner feels the power, he'll slow up and Guille will start to pick him apart.

Rigo got wobbled by B Class fighters. if Donaire landed one of his KO shot Rigo would have been KTFO No Doubt. Rigo executed his game plan, it wasn't pretty but it worked, and Donaire helped Rigo look good by not pressing the action.

surviving Donaired doesn't mean he has a solid chin.

he gets dropped a lot, and he can be hurt, but he recovers and wins fights. it wasn't like he got stopped in the amateurs frequently.



if mares catches up to him, without a doubt he can hurt him, but i don't see him catching rigondeaux consistently and with more than one punch at a time.
