I am shocked Bute pulled out of a tough fight he was likely to lose.
One year ago everybody on Boxing Scene thought Bute was one of the best and most skilled fighters in the world. It's interesting how perception changes.Comment

Off topic, honestly I think HBO's best division is its welterweight and jr welterweight scene and even then its not a very populated pool. Maybe that's why their so focused on the Eastern market, maybe they don't have to compete with GBP fighters to impress the Asian market?Comment

i'm not sure about this comment because i know i never thought he was a great fighter. he feasted on fringe guys but did have a few nice wins but while the best were fighting in the super 6 he stayed fighting in montreal. miranda, andrade & johnson were excellent wins but his first fight against a world class fighter(johnson was a great fighter but had seen better days)he got his ass kicked. ever since the andrade fiasco in their first fight(BUTE got help from the ref)i have been skeptical. he is a solid fighter but i can't call him elite yet.there were others who felt the same way...Comment

Poor Bute. This was a fine comeback opportunity.
Guys are tripping in this thread. Injuries happen and they are always unfortunate.Comment
