Didn't Mayorga had a wrestling background?
As I said, the fight was stopped because of a foul. It was ruled a TKO by doctor's stoppage. If it wasn't a foul, it would have been a TKO by referee stoppage. Essentially, the fighter who was fouled couldn't continue and so the fouler was awarded victory.

You are clearly paranoid that this makes MMA look bad so you post 5+ times trying to diminish Mayorga's glorious victory.

MMA fans are butthurt (look at all the forums and youtube comments), you shouldn't be because only a handful of fans even know that it happened and it meant nothing. Still give credit to Mayorga, he came in to lose and managed to win instead.

There's nothing to be butt hurt about.

I have just been posting in order to put things into perspective.

Nothing against Mayorga. But that wasn't an impressive win. That's just a fact.

I'm a huge boxing fan, and I went out of my way to watch this today, because I was curious.

Mayorga still outweighed the guy by 22 pounds at weigh ins (and he came in 20 pounds over), and beat up a taxi driver with little experience. 20 pounds over.

And that isn't to say that Mayorga couldn't beat a more serious competitor, but I will reserve any judgement until such a time.

Also, it isn't necessary to pigeon hole people (or yourself) into members of the boxing fan click, or the MMA fan click. I personally love all combat sports, including boxing, MMA, kickboxing, wrestling, judo, sumo, and more. I have also boxed competitively, which I'm sure is more than you have ever done.

Mayorga is a straight G!!!! Yes is not a legit threat in mma or boxing but he is pure entertainment and always comes to fight. One of my all-time favorites.

Would love to see him one last time blowing smoke at candelo, floyd, anderson silva, gsp. Doesnt matter the sport. Dude is awesome

Mayorga just didn't want to go on a diet. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even train for this fight.

You are trying to be 'that guy' who watches all combat sport and trying his best to educate and spin this while at the same time overlooking the fact that Mayorga in MMA is a complete joke yet he still beat someone who is familiar with grappling. But guess what, i'm 'that guy' too and I know just as much about combat sports as you claim too...so take your propaganda somewhere else. I'm sure you also look at Toney-Couture as a legit display of combat sports while ignoring Mercer and Mayorga.

Even if a fight is stoped by doctor stopage doesn't mean that Mayorga has fouled. It just means that the doctor don't think the guy can continue just like when a guy is cut in a wrong place and the ref calls the doc to make sure hes fit to continue...
