Mayorga could have brought a knife into the octagon and they would have allowed it.

I dont know why it's controversial

If you're in a real fight, and somebody was trying to break your arm and you were in a position to knee them, then of course you would.

If you don't want to get knee'd in the back, then don't give up your back for an armbar.

        dude stop hating...

You can't even see where the knee lands, and it wasn't that hard anyway. The MMA guy (who is reportedly 5-1) was crying to the ref and he got punished. He quit.

Mayorga coming in fat was not a positive for him and it just showed that he just showed up with no training. Having said that for a guy who was halfassing it and probably hasn't had more then a few hours of grappling training, he had some good instincts on the ground, like an early era MMA version of Mark Hunt.

Yeah your right but the refs have a rule that if they don't see the foul it didn't happen so maybe the ref was in a bad possition and didn't see it or was it even a foul? because I didn't see it.
Didn't Mayorga had a wrestling background?

              You can't be serious...

He has a streetfighting background but I don't think that counts. He trained a bit with ATT camp but i'm willing to bet it was mostly just for the Din Thomas presser and nothing more. Like Toney and Mercer he probably had near zero grappling training.

Yeah, basically even if it was illegal the ref was not in a position to see it. MMA guy wanted a 'time out'...it doesn't work that way, even under MMA rules. Protect yourself at all times, and since I don't speak Spanish i'm not sure what went on, but it looked like they gave the MMA guy a chance to continue after and he refused because he was 'paralyzed'...WITH FEAR from the onslaught of El Matador!

I'm not hating. I'm being, you know, rational.
