I thought the same at first but watch the slow-mo, he was going though the motions but really wasn't there.

I have to agree actually seeing it from another angle. He was eating some big shots flush, he was taking them well and was seemingly looking for a counter but from that angle I don't think the stoppage was as bad as I initially thought.
