Regardless of the early stoppage, Mares hurt and dropped PDL several times, not many people saw this coming, he outperformed Gamboa and Broner against the same opponent. I think PDL had only been stopped by Lopez, correct me if I'm wrong.

Those fights were also a long time ago. PDL is a lot older now. Not taking away from his win because it was impressive.
