No. Matthysse is fighting off Garcia's contenders; so much so that you'd be forgiven for thinking that he is the regular champ. Peterson will be an interesting fight. Meanwhile, I don't know who put Judah and Morales in line for a title.

Sure, lets look at the quality.

      Garcia last 5 -
Judah, knocked out before, known for being chinny. Decision
Erik Morales, far removed from prime, has been TKO'd and KO'd before. KO
Khan, knocked out before, known for being chinny. TKO
Erik Morales, same **** that I said before. Decision
Nate Campbell, has been stopped twice, FAR past it. Decision

Lucas had 2 stay busy fights that I'm going to look past, if you don't mind.

      Matthysse last 5 -
      Dallas Jr, KO'd before. KO
Ajose Olusegun, undefeated, great punch resistance/boxing. TKO
Humberto Soto, known for being granite, never been stopped. KO
Devon Alexander, only loss to Timothy Bradley, contraversial loss, hurt him quite a few times.
Chop Chop Corley, Old, FAR FAR FAR past it, but durable. Put down 5 times before KO (body shots).

The caliber isn't all that different, honestly. The "value" of the opponents is different though.. as is their opponents abilities to take a punch. Lucas has actually shown his power against much more durable competition. Danny showing his power against Khan and Judah isn't all that impressive.

That being said, anyone debating the state of Judahs face in this fight versus in the Matthysse fight also have to realize Judah didn't have the bravery to stand and fight with Matthysse the way he did with Garcia either. Going by that logic, you can say he probably feared Lucas power much more.
Judah was definitely more engaging in the Garcia fight than the Matthysse fight and people seem to be forgeting.

Anyone who is saying that Zab is just bitter doesn't know what they are talking about. Garcia has decent pop but he's not a knockout puncher. He's an arm puncher.

Lucas has some boxing ability, but his game is to drag the opponent into the trenches and I think Peterson will be a willing participant. Somebody is gonna get hurt, and he who has more power and better conditioning will win. I might have to watch Bradley/Peterson again, but I remember thinking that Bradley was forced to box on the back foot because Lamont was starting to get the better of him on the inside. Power isn't everything, but I do think it will be the key in discouraging Pete from playing to his strength. We're also gonna see how Matts responds to being pressured, this is a really good styles clash.
Peterson isn't afraid of power and he continues to pressure and is a very good body puncher himself. I think Matthysse will be surprised how Peterson pressures him. I'm thinking Matthysse relies oh his power more than his skills.

I didn't know this was something people would actually question. Matthysse has massive power, and might be the best pound for pound puncher in the sport. Garcia has very good power, and very well could win the fight if it ever happens, but I think Matthysse is the much harder puncher.

I'm interested in seeing if either guy will be forced to decrease their output so as to conserve energy. Matthysse seemed to take his foot off the gas a little against Ajose in the mid rounds and wound up losing a couple rounds imo. Peterson doesn't move as much as Ajose, so maybe that will motivate Lucas to throw more and potentially tire himself out. This will be a war of attrition, and the first guy who shows signs of slowing down is gonna have problems. I wish this fight was next Saturday instead of Floyd/Guerrero.

Me too. Thing is that Peterson doesn't slow up or tire. He doesn't give fighters much room to rest. He's always on the gas but he is subsceptible to getting clocked but he has shown durability and the will to get back up and fight sort of like a black Marquez. Not skill but just the will to get back up and fight on. I want to see how Lucas Matthysse does in this fight.

He didnt say Garcia is not a good puncher.

He just said Lucas hits harder.

Mmmm who to believe, the man who has been on the ring with both? Or int posters?

                  Hard choice

Him KO'in Khan is an accomplishment when he was the underdog who was supposed to lose
Everyone who watches khan knows that every fighter had a punchers chance against khan. Khan has a China chin. That has been known since he got knocked the **** out in the first round by Prescott. Dude was getting knocked down by bum. **** he was almost stopped by maidana but he started running like a batch and maiden a didn't know how to cut him off. Yes khan was a huge favorite but everyone did give Garcia a punchers chance since khan chin p4p is one of the weakest

                      garcia or mattyse

Honestly in my view i think there both power punchers an idk who hits harder overrall...for mattyse i think its just the case of him having naturally heavier hands, an danny loading up on his power punches so in the end they may have similar power cause mattyse doesnt load up that much, which i mean if u have heavy hands why wud u need to u can conserve more energy, an danny prolly has heavy hands to am just saying he loads up more on his shots....if they fought i wudnt be shocked at all if there were knockdowns on both ends or even a ko in the heat of battle......i like danny better in that fight as the favorite because of several things.....for starters, garcia has better skill(not by much), he performs better in main event level fights an is rather composed even when he may be losing a round......even though id put my money on danny, mattyse has those heavy hands that can change how a fight turns out, i think lately hes getting a tad overrated as his competition hasnt been as elite so he has been able to perform better
