And since you find the Morales KO more impressive than beating Alexander and getting robbed, you are not one to talk about overhyping anyone. Has Garcia beaten anyone as good as Devon Alexander?

This is where you say the FACTS say Alexander won, and if Matthysse was as good as I say, he would have finished Alexander. Meanwhile, you will ignore my return question asking who Garcia has ever stopped that's as durable as Alexander, like you did the last time we discussed this.

Also, guess what? Garcia didn't stop Judah either.
    1. Judah had a considerable following saying that he had a chance to outbox and beat Garcia because Garcia was a limited fighter but it didn't happen. Garcia whupped Judah, knocked him down and had him hurt numerous times which Matthysse failed to do in their fight. My thing is, if Matthyyse was so powerful then Garcia must be the hulk because Matthysse did not have Judah hurt like that. Matthysse is good but to say Garcia sucks and Matthysse is the goods is far fetched considering Matthysse hasn't delivered a dominant performance over guys like Judah/Alexander. He may have been robbed but the fight was still close with Zab and Alexander survived so I'll wait before I say Matthysse would beat down Garcia.

    2. The Morales KO is more impressive considering he didn't let the fight go to the judges again and note that prior Morales gave a big power puncher like Maidana all he could handle. Alexander is not all that. Dude got more gift decisions than Santa's favorite kid on Christmas. A KO will always trump a decision. Also, Alexander quit against Bradley talking about a head butt but he went the distance with Matthysse after being dropped. A shame he got robbed by the judges.

    3. You're hyping Alexander to put emphasis on Matthysse disputed loss but Garcia ain't leaving the decision up to the judges because he is dishing out beat downs.

He left it up to the judges last night. Against a durable fighter that you complain about Matthysse not finishing. And he got his ass whipped the last three rounds, worse than Matthysse did at any point against Judah.

And me, hyping up Alexander? Not even. He's not very good, and basically only wins fights because he's good at spoiling. He was still among the better fighters at 140, and not a bloated, shot fighter like Morales.

Matthysse's wins over Alexander, Ajose, and Soto are all better than any other win Garcia has. This is my problem with the people hyping Garcia. He does not have better wins, he has one win that's better than Matthysse's. One. You can't legitimately tell me Matthysse is hype but Garcia isn't without bias.

Matthysse has taken advantage of his opportunities. He beat Alexander. He beat the crap out of Soto and Ajose. Most think he beat Judah. Not his fault he was screwed.
So you admit it then why are you STILL debating that Matthysse's wins over Alexander, Ajose and Soto are better if you just admitted in your first line that Khan is a better singular win than anything Matthysse has done? Matthysse DIDN't beat Alexander on paper. It's like when we say Marquez beat Manny in prior fights before the 4th because we believe he did but on paper he didn't. Can you seriously say that Matthysse beat Judah down like Garcia did? Garica is the best at 140 on paper and Matthysse is not but we will see who will be left standing in the tourney.

I'm not debating that those wins are better than Khan. I'm saying they're better than anything else Garcia has done.

Stop with the on paper stuff. From this point on, I'm not even bothering when people say that about Matthysse-Alexander. And if you want to give Marquez/Pac 3 to Marquez, go ahead. It's widely recognized as a robbery. Robberies should not be held against a fighter, and usually aren't unless someone is trying to discredit a fighter.

Morales was definitely past it but he still gave Maidana a run for his money are you ignoring this? Garcia got hit but he stayed in the fight and won not getting robbed in Brooklyn. The fight wasn't close. Matthysse fight with Judah was closer and he lost it. Khan beat Zab (by KO) and now Garcia but Matthysse didn't. How is he considered to be so dangerous of a fighter if he didn't put a hurting on Zab who got KO'd by Khan and beat down by Garcia? Just because a fighter gets hit don't make him exposed. The point is can he take it and come back to win and that's what Garcia did. He got hit with some solid punches and still won with no disputes. Give the man his due. Ok to like a certain fighter but should not down play a fighter's achievements when the fighter you favor didn't even do what the fighter you are criticizing did. For the record Matthysse was supposed to fight Morales but had to pull out. Bet you would have given him props if he knocked out Morales though if the fight happened.

The first highlighted line is double talk. Doesn't make sense. Whether you feel Matthysse beat better fighters than Garcia is your opinion but the fact he didn't KO guys like Judah and Alexander but he did the rest shows that there is a certain level of fighter he has problems with getting out of there. Garcia is solid and take a punch, recuperate and still win through adversity.

Robberies should not be held against a fighter but unfortunately we live in the real world and it is what it is. That's why Marquez went after Pacquiao even though he knew he won in his heart but he needed to show he was better. I'm not trying to discredit Matthysse because I think he is solid but he is not as dangerous as people make him out to be and that's my opinion like yours about Garcia. I don't get mad about yours so why you get bent out of shape about mine? Garcia would thump Matthysse. Would be a great fight but Garcia takes it. I actually think Matthysse won't make it past Peterson.

              • Peterson/Mattysse is going to be a harder fight for both guys than most ppl think here.

Even though I slightly favor Lucas against Garcia, Garcia will be able to jab Lucas a lot and the fight won't be as easy as a lot of ppl are saying here

Yeah but the beat down was already in effect about time Judah got off. We learned that Judah can take an ass kicking if he really wants to. Should have been this way earlier in his career. Maybe he would have won a lot more big fights.

I favor Garcia. He is 2" taller, has a slightly shorter reach than Matthysse but he can connect and has emphasis on his punches. I think Matthysse being the slightly smaller fighter will play a big factor. Interested in seeing Peterson/Matthysse because that fight should tell a lot about Lucas Matthysse because power is not a factor when fighting Peterson because he gets back up and pressures.
