Macklin fight is June 29th so a early Sept fight means Golovkin would have to go into camp right away a week or two later. Klitschko vs Povetkin is supposed to be Sept 7th or 14th in Moscow and Gena is with K2 it would be great if he was on the undercard for that and HBO might show some interest in that HW fight anyways.

Why would Murray duck GGG? He's already travelled to fight Sturm and Martinez.

Golovkin's manager was on the radio last night, GGG is finding it almost impossible to get opponents to sign on the dotted line.

It looks like Murray is next since he is the only one who is willing but Golovkin will have to travel to the UK.

If im GGG i dont travel to the UK.... Murray is durable and probably go to a dec.. and GGG could be robbed...

I would stay in America and just fight unknowns and ko them till there was a huge demand for GGG to fight a major fight... Especially with HBO behind him, he can just fight his mandatories til something big comes along.....

HBO won't sign off on unknowns. Golovkin has to fight live known opponents or they won't show his fights. They wanted to fight Curtis Stevens, HBO turned the fight down.

I'm not sure how durable Murray will be anyway, but if they do rob him it won't matter if Golovkin actually won the fight (see Matthysse-Judah/Alexander).

True about the lucas comparison, but if im GGG i just stay in america and fight whoever HBO lets me fight... They would let him get some easy mandatories as long as he is destroying them and looking like a million bucks,,, Proska and Rosado werent exactly known guys when HBO greenlighted those fights... Hbo is looking for new stars and GGG is one they are trying to hype... They let broner fight a bunch of nobodies so why not GGG

                  Absolutely.

Murray just beat Martinez IMO and dropped him twice.

If Golvokin destroyed him it would be a very good win.

First he has to beat Macklin better than Martinez which I expect him to. Then Murray next would be ideal.

                  Barker-Geale winner if there also.

Broner is from the US so he has a bigger potential upside, plus I don't think HBO got much out of giving Broner easy fights anyway. It's his trainer who says HBO refuses to sign off on nobodies, they won't put the money up.

Golovkin's trainer said Hearn wouldn't put Barker in with Golovkin (according to a Hearn interview on youtube). Maybe Geale would fight him but it's doubtful.

Where would the Murray fight take place? Would they turn out for him in Wigan or maybe it could be on a Froch undercard?
