Martinez is clearly the more talented fighter. But he's also pretty much shot. Did he land with anything like a substantial, hurtful punch all night?

Murray fought a faultless defensive performance. It's just a pity he lacks that extra bit of speed, power and guile which would have sealed Martinez's retirement.

It's not a robbery. But it was hardly a glorious affirmation of Martinez's rule over the division.

And what the **** was Martinez moaning about? And when he wasn't moaning he was acting like some kind of bizarre cross between Hollywood diva and vein-bulging nationalist who clearly hasn't gotten over losing a war.

Everyone knows if that instant replay was done in GB that the second knockdown would have been scored. That would have given him two 10-8 rounds, and he won at least four other rounds.

Murray out landed him both by power shots, jabs, punches etc. He also dropped him twice, End of thread.

Murray wasn't aggressive enough. He was the much larger man. He only has himself to blame.

Murray was robbed. As a sergio fan, he did not win this fight.

Best case scenario for sergio is a draw. He did not win at all what-so-ever.

How do you land more punches with a higher accuracy rate and still lose the round? The ****? That is robbing a dude blind.

Robbery? It was a close fight. 7-5 either guy I agree with. Similar to Canelo-Trout last week. The open scoring I think is bull**** though.

I thought it was a knock down. A soft one. But a knock down nonetheless.

Murray thinks he didn't do enough. But if putting the champion on his ass twice whilst taking little to nothing of substance all night - in the champion's back yard - counts as "not enough" he's setting the bar awfully high for himself.

BURNS My ass....Sorry but Martinez has always been overrated. I do not know why everyone thinks so much of this average fighter. His little gimmicks how he ambushes from afar and his little fun in the sun is almost over. Decent boxer punchers with basic skills and power have always been competative with this guy! From Pavlik to Murray.

I didn't see any problem with the open scoring this time. At round #8 the scorecards were 77-74 for Martínez and 76-75... Very close scorecards as the fight was.

Canelo vs Trout had Canelo up by 1000 points by round #8.
