Martinez thought the promenade in front of his home fans would suffice...
Maybe it did -- for the Argentinians...
Murray did little, but he did better than Martinez...

There's winning and there's winning, and there's losing and then there's losing.

Martinez may have won, but Murray gained more despite his lose.

I'm a Martinez fan but we might have seen his best days. Maybe he'll get somebody like Canelo now. another big money fight and then goodbye

i think its about that time
I agree. One last victim then Retire. Canelo would be perfect too lol.
He needs to stop showboating as much lol his hands were down alot more than usual in this fight

The "second knock down" was actually a slip...
I've seen the replay -- Martinez was not even touched into the process...

Ha, I was gonna say, I understood everything Martinez said, but was waiting for a translator for Murray.

Murray has a hell if a poker face. Was I the only one surprised to hear Martinez had him hurt in the 12th?

Serg not only looked soft and winded after 5 but he was not explosive at all. Maybe it's that Murray was so solid and hesitant initially and was also noticeably smaller. He needs like a year off if he broke his hand AGAIN. Dude's already missing a knuckle in there the wear and tear is adding up and FAST. I'd still slightly favor him over GGG based off pedigree but damn if he fights that reckless vs pretty much ANY of the real big guys he's getting KOd.

You're right, he wasn't touched. He was punched. Repeatedly. And it was a knockdown, though it didn't impact the margin of victory anyway.

Sergio Is An Idiot; Carrying Your Hands At Your Side Looks ******!

I'm surprised Sergio has lived this long. He's a pretty boy, great athlete. But you look like a real idiot in Boxing with your hands at your sides, and you'll never survive if you're dumb enough to get in the ring with Canelo. No wonder Sergio wants to call out guys smaller than him; he can't take a punch from guys his size or larger. Sergio Martinez is a real clown.

The punch that dropped Martinez for the second time landed to the back of the head.

I don't think refs have an obligation, whether based on rules or conventions stemming from a history of rulings, to call blows to non-scoring areas legal if the hit fighter's movement contributed to the blow landing. Some people are assuming that such an obligation exists, but I'm not sure what that's based on.

If a fighter who was crouching suddenly stands erect and consequently an opponent who was aiming for their crouched body hits them well below the belt, should the hit fighter lose by KO if they are dropped and cannot get up within a ten count?
