You have got to think the guy is coming back from a brutal fight and a devastating loss to Garcia and the controversy in the Lamont Peterson fight as well hes in a transitional faze right now with changing trainer and should really have another two fights to build up to a big fight

We all know Khan isn't elite, so anybody who makes that claim is highly unoriginal. What he is however is exciting and puts on a show. That's what counts.
I like Amir but the kid can only dream of exhibiting that amount of skill in a fight. And those two fights have nothing to do with each other, apart from some tenuous link between a supposed boring fight (which it wasn't) with this supposed exciting fight we saw tonight (which it sorta was, admittedly)
As for him being exciting? Yes, sure. Because his defence and chin are so bad, he's always vulnerable. It's the same for Berto. Their actual styles are pretty boring, the fights only become exciting once they get chin-checked and forced to fight (and admittedly, both have tons of heart).
Khan is exciting only because of his tremendous flaws, so please, let's not make a big virtue out of it.

Given this is the internet, I prefer to be straight up.
I think you're right too. GB can pass the baton so to speak because its clear that Khan isn't for the long term.

Good fight. Amir definitely was thinking more in this fight. He got hit with some bad flush shots though. Diaz was really loading them up.
Rome wasn't build in one day. Amir needs some more rebuilding. You can't expect Virgil to transform Amir just in two camps.
It's too bad Amir is gonna take a pretty long lay-off now. He will be back in December. I hope he doesn't forget all the things he has learned by then.

To be real his chin was never his problem, I know how crazy that's gonna sound but let's face facts here. He doesn't have an iron jaw but the cut to 135 was affecting him and the shots Prescott hit him with would have taken down a horse. At 140 he actually had a very sturdy chin. Look at his fights against Peterson, Maidana, Judah and even Danny Garcia, they all caught him with a LOT of CLEAN punches, he took them all, stood on his feet and kept firing off. He was hurt but he took massive punches in cumulation and never got stopped or dropped. But that's not where the problem lies, your jaw is like a wall and the more and more u chip away at it, it slowly starts to crumble, u take enough of those shots and ur jaw is gonna lose its strength and crumble, that was the case against Garcia and that was the LAST straw for Amir. The shots he took before that didn't hurt him were hurting him EVERY SINGLE TIME in this fight. If Diaz landed clean Khan would wobble. And the issue used to be that he had a good chin but he can't see and react to punches that are coming in. He drops his right hand and sticks his chin up when he hooks, he jabs and then leans on his back foot so he's open for a right counter, he just does everything wrong defensively and can't help but getting caught clean. Now his chin is shot and isn't there to make up for this defensive flaws when a few shots get through.
He's a good kid but its only a matter of time now before he goes to sleep and I just hope he doesn't ruin his future and end up punch drunk like a Terry Norris or one of those sad boxing stories
In fact, his whole "I'm going to retire at 28" thing doesn't seem such a ****** idea anymore.
It feels kinda sadistic of GBP to be lining him up with a world title fight as his next fight.
