Just watched Matthyse vs Alexander/Judah

I was at the Judah fight. It was funny because every one was cheering on zab untill about the 6th. Then the crowd turned against him and people were yelling "knock him out Lucas!!" not to mention all the booing.

I had Judah winning,and Matt's beating Alexander clearly..

Watching on youtube, I had Matt beating Judah 115-112.....but since the Judges don't have the same capabilities of replay as us, I can concede Judah winning really close on scorecards...It was a close fight but Watching with all the capabilities Matthyse won...Matthyse gave away early rounds which made judah have a case.........The alexander fight was a joke....Alexander in the middle rounds wanted no part of matthyse but Round 9 showed some life.....I scored 96-93 Matthyse....I can't argue anything in Favor of Alexander as i did for Judah......Either way both alexander and judah benefited from hometown decisions. Alexander was a robbery.

C+P as I went over these fights again myself.

My round by scorecards for each fight. First time watching I had Lucas edging both fights. Rewatching now and will score each round.

Any rounds you disagree with, feel free to debate/say.


Round 1 - 10-9 Matthysse, close round but Lucas with the cleaner, more effective work. Nice rights to the body.

Round 2 - Alexander boxing nicely, Lucas gets his jab going lands a big right hand that backs up Alexander, Alexander comes back with some nice lefts. Legs get tied up and Lucas unleashes a combination & goes back to his corner smiling as the round draws an end but he hasn't done enough to steal the round IMO 10-9 Alexander

round 3 - Alexander firing but Lucas showing some really good head movement, showing his underrated defense & getting in close. Nice right to the body from Lucas. Big left hook flush on the whiskers but Alexander takes it well. 10-9 Alexander

Round 4 - First punch he lands, a big right hand that sends Alexander to the canvas. Lucas backing him up & trapping him on the ropes, landing some big shots. 5 punch combination from Alexander all of which misses. 10-8 Lucas

Round 5 - Scrappy round with Lucas applying the pressure, Alexander grunting & clinching. Nothing of much significance landed but for me Lucas was the aggressor and did land the cleaner shots. 10-9 Lucas

Round 6 - Wicked left hook to the body from Lucas, Alexander returns but it is borderline and the referee warns him to keep em up. Nice from Lucas as he looks to pick the pace up, sneaky uppercut inside. Devon fires back but Matthysse is showing zero respect for his power. Devons throwing nice combinations but Lucas is basically laughing when he fires out a piston like jab & a savage left hook to the body. Lucas lands two nice uppercuts inside & follows with a short hook. Close round - Give Devon it due to workrate. 10-9 Alexander

Round 7 - Lucas comes out blazing as Alexander is back-peddling. Lucas stepping on the gas, feints a right to the body but goes upstairs, lovely shot.
Straight right to the body & comes up with a beautiful left uppercut that snaps Alexanders head back. Another big right that stuns Alexander. Lucas is teeing off as Alexander looks gassed. Nothing on Alexanders shot though very few thrown. 10-9 Lucas (All Lucas that round)

Round 8 - Lucas picking up where he left off. Lands some huge straight rights to the body as Alexanders on the ropes, one in particular makes Devon squeel ln pain. Alexander finally answers with a nice right hook up top. Good back n' forth action but Alexander is coming off 2nd best in all exchanges. Lucas finishes strong with a left hook to the body, wild right hook that misses & a nice short left hook which buckles Devon. 10-9 Lucas

Round 9 - Alexanders caught his 2nd wind, gets through some nice straight left hands. Lucas is missing an awful lot as he is looking a little fatigued.
Steps it up and is chasing Devon across the ring! Lands a nice combination as Lucas smashes his gloves together and roars at him to bring it on! Lands a powerful jab which sends Devons head snapping back. Lucas swings for the hills but ears a nice counter left. Nice bodyshot from Lucas as Devon holds on, that hurt! 10-9 Alexander, his best round for some time.

Round 10 - Nice left hook from Lucas. Nice right hand flush on the button but Devon eats it. Nice work from Devon switching from the body to up top. Nice left hook from Lucas whose looking tired then turns it up a notch with a nice combination. Alexander on his bicycle but Lucas is right on him. Little flurry from Alexander - all blocked, nothing on them. Chopping right inside from Lucas. 10-9 Lucas


96-93 Lucas Matthysse I fail to see how Alexander could of possibly won that even with giving him a few of the close rounds

Lucas Matthysse vs Zab Judah RBR.


Round 1 - Both guys feeling each other out. Both with a jab to the body. Nice straight left from Zab. Heads come together & Zabs pawing at his left eye. 10-9 Judah

Round 2 - Starts off with a battle of the jabs. Strong right to the body from Lucas. Nice left hook to the body. The crowd are booing but its a good chessmatch. Lucas took the round for me with his bodyshots. 10-9 Lucas

Round 3 - Lucas landing some nice counters downstairs, some are being blocked whilst some are landing. Lucas is picking up the workrate whilst Judah is doing nothing. Lands a nice counter left! Nice straight left to the body. Judah complaining about a butt & has one of his childlike tantrums. Too little, too late for Zab. 10-9 Lucas

Round 4 - Lucas appears to of loosened up, outboxing Judah! Zabs jab starts to land, good counter left from Judah as they both exchange. Zab took the round by a whisker 10-9 Judah (Very close but I think Judah just stole that one)

Round 5 - Judahs using his jab more as a range finder, Lucas landing the harder jabs. Judahs blocking most with his elbows.
Judah lands two good straight lefts & takes the round. 10-9 Judah

Round 6 - Lucas continues to jab to the body with the odd straight right behind it. Doubles up the right hand, Zab replies with flicking out a weak jab, doubles it up but all hit the gloves. Lucas swings a wild right hook which misses, followed by another which hits Zab on the shoulder.
Zabs not throwing many/any powershots at all. Good left, right from Lucas.
Judahs opens up finally but nothing landed. 10-9 Lucas

Round 7 - Judah pumping out the jab but landing absolutely ****! Lucas going to the body but most of it being taken on the arms & elbows. Nice straight right hand from Lucas. Judah lands a more meaningful jab. 10-9 Lucas

Round 8 - Judah lands a big uppercut but it doesn't phase Lucas, lands a nice straight left. Two nice body shots from Lucas, good left from Judah. Lucas finishes strong but for me that is a Judah round. 10-9 Judah

Round 9 - Lucas comes out strong, finally the pace picks up albeit briefly. Zab pawing with the jab, Lucas landing the occasional nice straight right to the body. Paw-paw-paw as Lucas swings widely. Lucas letting his hands go more but not much getting through. 10-9 Lucas

Round 10 - Nice straight right lands on Zabs button. Lucas cutting the ring off beautifully as he looks to unload. Bodyshots seem to be slowing Zab down.
Right hand from Lucas and Judah is down. Lucas teeing off and lands and thudding left hook & a strong right hand. Good uppercut from Zab though Lucas just walks straight through it like it was nothing. 10-8 Lucas

Round 11 - Lucas comes out like a bull & lands a wicked bodyshot. Judah gets clapped with a big right hand. Zab finally lets a combination go but nothing gets through though the crowd react to it. Lucas smiles and fires back, Zab goes down but its ruled a push. Nice bodyshot and a jab as Zab backs up from Lucas. Judah on the ropes & Lucas unleashes a combination, left hook, straight right, left hand sneaks through Judahs guard before Zab holds on. Lucas going in for the kill as Judah is merely trying to survive the round. Big overhand right from Lucas & a combination as he traps Zab in the corner. 10-9 Lucas

Round 12 - Better start to the round from Zab in the sense he is avoiding most of the onslaught, very defensive throughout. Good right from Lucas & another. Zab looking sorry for himself. Judah finally lands a decent left. 3 punch combo from Zab as he grins. Lucas replies with combinations as he has Zab on the ropes who is forced to clinch, looking very tired & hurt. 10-9 Lucas


Very hard fight to score! Zab outjabbed Lucas, Lucas landed more powershots, especially for the first 6-7 quite a lot of those rounds was very close and could of gone either way!

116-111 Lucas Matthysse Surprised its so wide, no problem if anybody has it a few closer as that, tough tough fight to score but for me Lucas was the clear winner and pulled it out down the stretch.
