Boxers truly appreciate being recognized by their fans though, Ray Leonard is also real cool, that dude looks like he is still in his 30's lol

I met Johnny Tapia about a month before he passed away. I was up in Albuquerque for a concert and was at a pizza place and there he was sitting with his wife and father. He took a picture with me and my friends and he started talking to us about Tattoos since my friend is all sleeved up. Really good guy he introduced us to his wife and dad and asked about the concert we were going to. Really nice guy for someone who lived such a hard life. RIP champ.Last edited by pistol whip; 04-24-2013, 02:50 PM.

Brief meeting with Chris Eubank in the The Lanes; nice pub/restaurant spot down in Brighton. He'd been riding his Harley around and I grabbed a chance to get an autograph. Typical Chris, very weirdly dressed like a 1920s English aristocrat, but actually a nice guy who fished out a signed card and thanked me for coming over and being 'so polite' when asking for the autograph. Really seemed to love his Harley.
Went to an event where Alan Minter was speaking and he was very funny, down-to-earth and honest about his career and how good Hagler really was. Sadly he was not able to stick around for too long.
Best meeting was with Robin 'The Reaperman' Reid at Wembley Arena. We had good tickets for that fight (Audley's pro debut) and Robin's family and friends were in the row in front of us and going absolutely mental when he was fighting. Robin turned-up a bit later, looking very cool and sharply dressed, and sat down directly in front of me. The Reid folk were still jumping and down and Robin told them to sit down so we could see the fights as well.
Asked him to my sign my programme and he was more than happy to do this and thanked us all for coming out to watch the boxing and that he hoped to see us again. Very good bloke and a seriously snapper dresser as well.
