I got Miguel Cotto by UD!

I really like Cotto but his day is done in big fights like this. Canelo may not be elite but he hits hard enough and is good enough to back up Cotto and make him begin to retreat halfway through the fight. Canelo is going to win and then people on here will claim but he fought another fighter out of his prime.

I'm tempted to say Canelo stomps on Cotto, but it's not like he's that got a huge height advantage over Cotto. Canelo doesn't fight the full 3 minutes of a round. The fighters that give Cotto fits are the same ones Hopkins has trouble with: volume punchers. The only exception to this was Mayweather, but he's in a class of his own.

What Canelo has over all of Cotto's conquerors is his explosive power. Pacquiao had explosivity, but Canelo is a HUGE super welter that comes in at super middleweight on fight night.

His uppercut is very strong and snappy, which will pose a great threat as it exploits Cotto's weakness.

Canelo is not as active as someone like Margarito, but he is a tremendous body puncher and is able to mix it to the head and body during combinations. If Canelo unleashes with Cotto languishing on the ropes, it could put Cotto on the defensive real quick.

Cotto's key to victory would be to test Canelo's supposed lack of stamina by investing in body work whenever he can. Canelo can also be outboxed but in a close fight, Cotto doesn't have a chance given how Canelo would be the undefeated champion. He would have to look very convincing to win that fight.

I wouldn't even entertain the idea of Cotto by stoppage as I just don't see that happening.

As of NOW, I got Canelo by a wide decision as Cotto gets on the backfoot in the last fourth of the fight.

No disrespect to cotto but at this point how does one even still give cotto the chance to beat canelo??? Cotto is a part time boxer, dude gas out mid rounds, cotto is not strong or fast enough to give canelo problems. Cotto will get a major azzz whooping from canelo and I'm not even a canelo fan.

Canelo is like a better version of cotto

Did some of you guys magically forget that canelo gasses as easily as cotto lol.

At least canelo can still be effective when he starts to gas.

Their fights against Trout proved Cotto has the better jab and hook to the head.

Cotto doesn't have good stamina. Nelo has horrible stamina. Imagine if Nelo fought the pacquiao Cotto did, Nelo would have got in doggy position gasping for air.

Nelo is no better version of Cotto as of now. He can potentially be as good as prime Cotto.

people seem to be overlooking this crucial fact...cotto is done..only reason gbp is pursuing this fight is for money not for legacy. if canelo wanted to continue to prove he is the best at 154 he would fight the angulo vs lara winner, which is a FAR more interesting fight than canelo vs cotto.
