I think Cotto can hang.

Canelo didn't overly impress me.

I would favor Canelo. But I think Cotto can make it interesting.

The fact Cotto got a slim win against Clottey 4 years ago leads me little doubt Canelo would take this.

Cotto would look slick at times but he'd be bullied in there.

Cotto has an ability to look really bothered in there at times, and Canelo just never seems remotely phased in his work, TKO round 9.

Nothing Canelo showed on Saturday leads me to believe that Cotto doesn't have the skill, ring iq and ability to beat Canelo. Canelo has youth and size which if the fight pops off, I think Canelo will win, but that's it. He didn't look "special" to the point that a past-prime, still good fighter can't beat him.

Honestly, if the line is good and Cotto is a decent underdog, like 5-1 or so, I'd put some $ on Cotto. Why not, he's not washed up, just past his prime in a bigger division

I'm a fan of all these guys but gotta say, disagree.

Interesting match-up though. All said and done Canelo would beat Clottey and will carve out a better career I reckon than both.

Plus, that's 4 years ago when Cotto was supposed to be near prime.

Alvarez is the favorite, that's clear. However, styles make fights and a focused Cotto does have the attributes to make this fight good. Alvarez did not look too impressive last Saturday, but I give the kid credit for showing good skill, solid defense, and some power against Trout. Cotto has a better jab, footwork, and experience. I think Alvarez should win but the fight would be competitive.

Both would get tired really quick since they're both entertaining fighters. Pretty interesting but what sucks is that Cotto is washed up and is coming off two loses. He may not of gotten beaten up by Trout but still on paper it doesn't look impressive for Canelo. Would be better if he gets that belt from the Molina/Smith winner and then try to unify with Canelo.


PS It's fucking HILARIOUS seeing some Cotto stans being humbled after talking all that shit.
